Why joke?? Misbah has MBA and only 35 years old. If Sachin & Dravid can play at 38' date=' why cant Misbah ??:hmmm:[/quote'] Coz Misbah is a sh*t batsman, and you should be embarrassed in mentioning him in the same breath as Tendulkar and Dravid.

MBA people can take better decisions on field. Dravid is also well educated which is why he was successful captain unlike Sachin.

Obviously He is 36 and has played only 19 tests. He is fresh as a daisy. So is Afridi also an MBA?

Age is not about numbers genius. Dravid & Sachin have played for 2 decades and internally, they are old men due to wear & tear. Misbah internal parts dont need much oiling because they havent been used much. Just look at Mike Hussey, he is almost same age as Sachin/Dravid but is very fit like Misbah due to lack of usage of bodily parts since he started his career in 30s . :winky: BTW, Afridi doesnt have MBA, he has a World Cup trophy:--D

Okay, the Pakistani selectors have selected a team for playing test matches. So lets see how good this team is. Here are some facts. All facts are batting related and are based on all 8 recognized batsmen in this team: 1. The collective average of this team is 36.86 2. The collective average of this team against SA is 25.98. (Time for facepalm) 3. The collective tally of centuries against SA for all 8 batsmen: 1. Yes, just one century against SA. Comes from Imran Farhat. 4. Out of the eight, only two batsmen have averages above 40. One of them is Mohammad Yusuf and the other is Fawad Alam who has played only three tests so far. Out of these two, Fawad has never played against SA and Yusuf averages 24 against SA. (Facepalm again) 5. Out of the eight, no one averages above 40 against SA. 6. Out of the eight, only one averages above 35 against SA. And that is Imran Farhat. 7. Out of the eight, only one averages above 30 against SA. 8. There are two batsmen Abudul Razzaq and Mohammad Hafeez who average below 20 against SA. 9. Captain Misbah Ul-Haq averages 29 against SA with a career average of 33.6. I somehow feel this team may not do so well against the mighty South Africans.

From the same article:

Pakistan will already be without two key ODI players in Salman Butt and Mohammad Amir, both of whom are provisionally suspended by the ICC for their alleged involvement in a spot-fixing scandal during the England tour. Mohammad Asif, the third suspended player, would not have been eligible for selection in any case as he is barred from entering the UAE. There continues to be no place in the side for a pair of former captains, Younis Khan and Shoaib Malik. There have been key changes in the management as well, the most significant being the return of Intikhab Alam as manager of the side. Intikhab, a veteran manager, takes over from Yawar Saeed. He was also coach of the side until earlier this year and in an inquiry committee after the Australia tour in January called his players "mentally retarded", as well as suspecting the motives of some of them in the now infamous Sydney Test loss.

In short, one of the best Pakistani line-up in a decade! :cantstop:

I think the criterion for choosing the captain is based on whether he can speak English or not – plain and simple. There’s no other way this guy could have gotten into the team. He could hardly put bat to ball in the NZ tour, looked completely out of sorts. Poor PCB, you have to feel for them. Half of their players are either out on suspensions related to match fixing, drug abuse, rape and incest or performing cosmetic surgeries or sailing in the ocean etc.. What will they do? The other remaining half is just a bunch of freshies straight out of villages in Pakistan. Forget captaincy, most of them still think the prize for winning the world cup is 72 virgins. There’s no way to appoint them captain. For all you know, whenever someone misfields, they might just pull out a gun and shoot that player. They probably realize they’re effed anyway, so might as well go for the most articulate, least BEAASSTTLY guy of them as captain. But you gotto say, PCB is a gift that keeps on giving. I was contemplating buying a yearly subscription for comedy central, now I am just going to buy the package for all Pakistani matches. Nothing comes even close in terms of entertainment. :hysterical:
