Praveen Kumar - A must for tests in South Africa. Wake up selectors !!!

Praveen Kumar so far as been ignored for tests...He can be deadly in South Africa. His lack of pace notwithstanding...conditions in South Africa are absolutely tailor made for a swing bowler like him. I back him to get us an early breakthrough everytime with the newball. At worst, he would be the best option as a stock bowler, what with his ability to bowl very long tight spells. I hope the selectors recognize this and give the man a chance.

RP Singh has done nothing of note to be given chances. PK has almost always got us breakthroughs with the new ball. RP Singh keeps bowling poor lines. PK has fantastic control over line and varies his length very smartly.

I feel Irfan pathan can be a handy option in swinging conditions. Don't know if he has the same control these days though. I agree about Praveen Kumar though, more like an Asif kind of bowler. Highly underrated. But I don't know who he'll replace? :dontknow:

May not be a bad idea totally. But I still feel that he lacks a few yards in pace to actually get to use the new ball at the Test level. Given Zaheer, Sreesanth and Ishant are available I dont see Praveen Kumar handling the new ball. And if he cannot get the new ball, then he is absolutely useless. Point to ponder.

Ideally Zak, Ishant and Sreesanth (if he is 'match-fit') should be our attack, but PK should be in the squad and be available to replace any of the above 3 if required.
