fineleg Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Ganguly had pros and cons as a captain. There were issues during his captaincy too, and politics played by Ganguly. Anyway, some people wont accept that Ganguly had several flaws as a captain, and that is a tired debate, so I dont have the interest to reopen the arguments. But saying Ganguly is the best captain is something that can be argued and has been argued in the past too. LOL! This is not a separate thread that I made, I guess this was spawned off from another thread. Just clarifying, Kthxbai!

fineleg Posted October 19, 2010 Author Posted October 19, 2010 There are several incidents of Ganguly being selfish or having played politics. Its a saga. If some are blind to it, so be it. Go through the incidents during the time before he was stripped off captaincy, you'll see it. I can list some of those, but it will only lead to endless back and forth. Been there, done that. Suffice it to say, there were very good things Ganguly did bring as a captain, but there were equally bad things that tarnished his image. He deserved the boot from the captaincy in the end, but still I'll give credit to whatever positive he did do.

So when you dont have kindly reserve your Hatred for other players in this Forum. Ganguly has retired long back, You cant Question Goddys conduct any more. So who's next in your list? :hehe:
Andy Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Also, I never called you a blind fan or anything. All I said was " are you guys dada fans?. With no ill intentions. A simple answer would have been "No. We aren't" But you went ahead and called me a blind dhoni fan or a fanboy. See who is getting his knickiers in a twist. Why categorise Indian Cricket fans at first place? How often do you see this hapening in ICF? If you have anything to back your arguement you should show them up rather than categorise.

Ok, so this is another of your wrist slitting posts :giggle: Anyways care to mention those incidents? Ganguly was stripped off captaincy because he was going through a rough patch and he didn't deserve to be as a player then. Simple as that. You can make speculations about any player, not only ganguly, but those need not be necessarily true. If you are in with some preconceived notion, then there's no point in discussing of course. And had he played politics, our team would have been in shambles like Pak team :winky:

Now i'll be a Dhoni hater for this post. But trust me i dont believe in that. Every captain has their favs and not so favs. But you cant be calling them Politics.
saneindian Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Continue to live in your la-la land. Doesn't change the fact that earlier captains were great, contributed immensely to Indian cricket and Dhoni too, like them, is great.
fineleg Posted October 19, 2010 Author Posted October 19, 2010 LOL! While I have had some criticisms against SRT, I've never once accused him of playing politics. Thats a Gangu special - politics - infact, he did it against VVS too. You can wear your blinkers and go "Hail Dada!" As I said, SG deserves praise too, but not the singular "Hail Hitler, Hail Dada".
Andy Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Saneindian - Yes you too. No doubt Dhoni is greater than the leaders we had prior 2000.'s, He will be called best ever once he starts doing well Abroad. But not denying the fact Dhoni's contribution, just because i dont call him greatest doesnt take the fact away from him he contributed Immensely. You seem to be a Bitter Fan.

Dhoni is not great than a Wadekar or a Pataudi or for that matter Lala Amarnath or C K Naydu. All of them have equally contributed to Indian cricket.. But unlike you , I dont get drawn into comparions or try to use words like "hapless" "weak", "home tigers" etc etc to run down my own team's achievements. Now live in peace.
Andy Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Finey - LOL! You and your Co partners called him selfish, playing for money etc etc. You dont have facts to back up your arguement, so contnue with your trolling. You can wear your blinkers and go "Hate Dada!"
fineleg Posted October 19, 2010 Author Posted October 19, 2010 I never called him playing for money, in anycase, keep circumventing and wear your hail SG blinker. Meet you on other topics/threads, any discussion with a Ganguly hardcore admirer is always one sided when discussing the 'great' dada, so moving on to other topics. See you around.
Andy Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Wrong again. One last time, quote the post to which it was replied. In the end i clarified, dont bring in the strengths of the teams. Never ever i brought team strengths into comparision.
Andy Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 And now we have a separate thread for discussing Sourav Ganguly who retired in 2008? No problem go on.

Do you know how the argument started? Many here say that win loss ratio alone matters in judging the captain. We were not talking specifically about Ganguly orr any captain, we were discussing how Kumble had to take a tough tenure and how he was a better captain than his stats suggests etc. Ganguly somehow entered the debate, that is all. Please read the previous posts in the thread.
Guest Gunner Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Abuse Sourav Ganguly as much as you want' date=' but why abuse his daddy? :--D[/quote'] For spawning such a lazy **** who would go on to captain India and live off the laurels of other players. He played politics with everyone in the team including SRT. Total kameena.
