Wanted to share this with you from another forum...u will roflmao like crazy on this one My favourite doesn't stand as a one-liner, but requires a bit of context. It was in the 1985 test in Dunedin between NZ and Pakistan, during the match-winning partnership between Coney and Chatfield (essentially a last wicket partnership, with Lance Cairns having retired hurt). Chatfield (at least up to that time) was the Chris Martin of his day, a genuine ferret. Confidence in the NZ camp was at zero when he came in to bat with 50 runs still required. He got most of the strike, as Pakistan were happy to give Coney a single at the start of every over, and with that many runs required, Coney was happy to take them. Chatfield played with the greatest of care, scoring the the odd single or two here and there only when he didn't his defensive shot quite right and got the benefit from the nick behind or off his pads. Otherwise he wisely left the scoring to Coney. Then after an hour or so, with about 20 runs still required, Chatfield figured he had his eye in, and played a glorious off-drive for four - probably the best shot he had ever played at any level. It obviously got to him, because the very next ball, he took a wild swing, and the ball luckily went through to the keeper without a touch. From John Morrison in the commentary box there was a sharp intake of breath. Then, "Chatfield - growing in confidence."

Which would mean Boycott was 20 when Afridi was 16 :P

Siva 'It doesn't get any better!' (Repeated at least 10 times a match) Harsha 'oh why do we have boundaries here, the boundaries are only in our minds not on the grounds' (when yuvraj was going great guns in the T20 semi against Aus)

I remembered this one recently...our Marathi speaking chaps would understand this one. It was during the 2002 tour to England...can't remember if it was an ODI or Test though. Gavaskar was on the airwaves. The camera panned to a couple of guys in the crowd...guess they were Marathi Manooses. They had a placard which read "Sachin gheun tak!". They were shown soon after Sachin hit Giles for a boundary. Our man, Gavaskar, in his naughty style sez: "ho, Sachin Tendulkar ni Ashley Giles chi ghetli!" You could hear Shastri and Bhogle going into a laughing riot in the background soon as they heard it. Sachin Tendulkar ni Ashley Giles chi ghetli!

Well actually I remember the match Ind vs Eng at Chester le street ' date='during natwest series 2002 but can you write in english whats funny about the statement, everyone is not marathi here :--D[/quote'] 'Sachin Gheun Tak' literally means 'Sachin Take it' which is a metaphor for 'Sachin **** him'. In hindi it would mean 'Sachin uski le le or Sachin uski maar le'. When Tendu hit a boundary Gavaskar said .. 'haan..Sachin ne Ashley Giles ki maari" meaning "Yes, he has ****ed him over". Comprende? It just sounds unique in marathi.. I could just visualize Bhogle and Shastri laugh when Gavaskar said that. :haha:

^ :hysterical: Masta re... tu marathi ka re bhau?
Nahi rau...I did all my college from 11th to MBA and my first couple of jobs in Pune...1992-2001. Basically am Bangalorean although my genes have Quick Gun Murugan flavors in both Tamil and Telugu. But I consider myself a Bangalorean! If exiled from Bangalore then I may consider myself a Puneri.

Mohammad Akram is a class A clown
He is the only reason, I am following the Pak-SA series. Yes at times he acts like a clown and his stints make no sense whatsoeva, but if there is one thing that he isnt, its him being diplomatic. "Teach him a lesson" :cantstop:
