vaibhav_delhi Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Lol at littlemaster and G_92 arguing with Dhoni lunatics about how great Dhoni is in ODIs and Comparisions have started with SRT. I can only laugh on this' date=' You guys should let this troll alone Not many on ICF will Agree that Dhoni is a great 'Batsman'.[/quote'] well because I dont worship tendulkar blindly, just admire him as the greatest batsman, Because I realize the importance of dhoni in indian scheme of things, because I consider him a great ODI batsman (with avg 50 and SR 90) esp under pressure I must be a troll by your trollish logic. Open your eyes mate.

Open your eyes mate. Great ODI batsman havent won us a match Single Handedly, Havent done well in Big Tournaments. By that standard even Sehwag is great in ODI matches. Discard your Dhoni glasses for a while and Compare Dhonis performances to that of SRT, Ganguly, Dravid, Yuvraj and see yourself how many greats you can name ahead of Dhoni. And talking about me 'Trolling' :giggle: Not a single Poster here on ICF will agree or does agree to most of the garbage you post. If your believe is so Strong Make a poll for your Opinions and see how many vote in Your favour. This is not SRT Fan Club to support SRT blindly we all are Indian Cricket Fans first.

Let me start by saying tht I am disappointed by level of your post. cricket experts, commentators, the icc, general public, selectors n even the advertisers know the worth of indian captain. was tht knock of 183 against SL not a single-handed victory? He hasnt played enough WC matches(only 3), failed in 2 and so did sachin in both of them. Go start a poll abt whether dhoni is the best captain india ever had n abt he being indias 2nd best ODI bat . It will surprise you and hopefully clear your misconceptions. Or Basically you could put your hatred and bias aside and look at a clearer picture.
Andy Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Only 1 knock and that too even in india? kaif has one match winning knock too. And that makes him a legend? And why are you talking about world cups only? what about other icc tournaments? dont you dare compare srt's failure in 2007 wc to that of dhonis. Srt was suffering from injuries then and before you question srt's performance in wc and compare them to dhonis check how tendulkar fared in his first wc. And talking about best ever captain we have a poll on that too and dhoni is not winning that poll. :D Talking about me hating dhoni i must say you are very immatured to lebel every person who doesnt think dhoni is great as hater. By that logic even you are a srt hater and hater of all those other legends played for india. Now answer all the questions if you understand cricket. Dhoni is very good but not a 'great' yet.

How low can you get? You asked 'a match' and I gave you one. The fact tht he has played only 3 wc games wouldnt change by any of your blabbering. what poll are you talking abt? I see maximum people lauding his captaincy in the other thread thts going on here right now. another clueless statement -> tht by my logic I am a sachin hater. doesnt deserve a reply.
Andy Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Allrite my bad, i should have asked you how many matches he has won us with his bat since his captaincy. he won us few matches with the bat prior to 2007. and talking about people praising dhoni for his captaincy yes everyone is praising him but not many have agreed to the fact that he is our greatest leader as indian cricket hasnt started after 2007. and if by your logic am a dhoni hater so is you a srt hater. your troling doesnt deserve anymore atention. kthxbi.
vaibhav_delhi Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 and if by your logic am a dhoni hater so is you a srt hater. i have said n no. of times tht sach is indias best odi and test batsman. But i see you undermining dhoni's importance in 90% of your posts. and basically you calling me a troll in evry post tells me abt your insecurities.
Andy Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Ok. Dhoni is great so are other 10 players that makes up the indian lineup.
gaurav92 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Vaibhav mate you are incorrigible.I ll leave you there. You have your own parameters of judging and so do I.To me he isn't anywhere near the Best ODI Batsman of India, for you he is right on top.We are coming across entirely different angles. Dhoni isn't a single handed matchwinner, he has always been supported by any other batsman partnering him.Sachin has single handedly won us so many games in his career, that i may get some gray hairs counting 'em.

Well Andy and Vaibhav.Stop calling each other a Troll. We are discussing a topic and not just trolling with vague posts. All of us have some or the other point, to prove our stand. So this isn't trolling for me
vaibhav_delhi Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 who said he's the best odi player? who said sachin is not a match winner? I cant care less abt the terms u r coining (single handed match winner double handed match winner BS). Dhoni is a ODI match winner. period. I said imo, dhoni is the best ODI player in pressure situation and i stand by it. seriously some of the level of posts out here need a drastic improvement

Gaurav, I would love to see the innings where Sachin or for that matter any other batsman "single handedly" won a match for the team. I can bet that in cricket history such innings can be counted on finger tips and you wont have any grey hairs counting them! Everytime there has been a Sachin(or for that matter any other batsman) hitting a 100 and leading us to win, there has been some other batsma(e)n supporting him at the other end. It's a team game end of the day and one man alone will not win you a match. I would love to be proved wrong though.
vaibhav_delhi Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 SI. you could count a few such innings by uv, sachin, sehwag and dhoni. but yeah there hav been only a handful of such innings
saneindian Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 SI. you could count a few such innings by uv, sachin, sehwag and dhoni. but yeah there hav been only a handful of such innings Vaibhav TBH the only one innings I can think of is Kapil's 175 in the 83 WC. The next highest was 26-27. Thats the only one that comes to mind besides a recent 100 in ODI vs SL by Sehwag where he scored nearly 70% of team runs or the 201 at Galle where again he scored more than 60-65% of team runs.

LOL True.I agree with most part, but saying Dhoni does better than Sachin under pressure situations. Opening the batting is more pressurizing than facing the old ball. And Sachin has done that magnificently, and opener rarely finishes the game, so Dhoni can be called a great finisher rather than Best ODI batsman that is what i am trying to convey to Vaibhav
