Sachinism Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Facebook's new emailing service is supposed to be announced today. They're dubbing it the 'Gmail-Killer' :giggle: Would you people trust facebook with your email?
DomainK Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I will try it out of curiosity, but it will take a lot more than just "funky and cool" to beat gmail. I will need a very solid reason to switch.
Holysmoke Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 it takes a lot of time and doing to change your primary email address. It must be MUCH better than gmail for me to even consider it.
b555 Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 chnage is not so easy atleast for the geeky guys
yoda Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 looks like fb is set to end the google dominance. given that several top google employees have left for fb (some of whom are stilll at fb), i wouldn't be surprised if they do a pretty good job with their email service. the guy who did gmail joined fb via an acquisition, not sure if he still there.
Sir john Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 FB :finger: reddiff and in.com rocks :yay::yay::yay:

Sachinism Posted November 15, 2010 Author Posted November 15, 2010 OK so they're launching an email service, but the main new product is a service that integrates facebook, email and sms. Keep history of conversations, can message from one medium to another seamlessly
Dark Warrior Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 http://blog.facebook.com/blog.php?post=452288242130 Sounds interesting but It's not easy to beat gmail.
DomainK Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 How can I create an account in FB :wall: How did you create an account in ICF?
b555 Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 :wall: How did you create an account in ICF? :hysterical:
urbestfriend Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 :wall: How did you create an account in ICF? Abe...I was talking about email account :giggle: Any links to create an email-id?
urbestfriend Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Did some search ...Basically it is not necessary to create an email account in FC to access your emails. You can redirect your gmail or mails from any other providers to view in Facebook :woot: Also text messages, instant messages etc... Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced his social networking website's new product, and it's not just an email offering. Facebook users will be able to access all their alerts – emails from any provider, text messages, instant messages – in one "convergence system" (screenshot above). Earlier, bloggers had speculated whether the product announced today would be a "Gmail killer" - a description Zuckerberg laughed off when he gave his press conference. Facebook users will be able to request @facebook.com email addresses, but Zuckerberg acknowledged that nobody's going to ditch their Gmail account just yet. They won't have to, because they'll be able to redirect their Gmail to their Facebook account. http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/71518,news-comment,technology,facebook-bids-to-become-the-internet-messaging-hub#ixzz15Qeh9Gol
