The selectors have probably had enough of Karthik's sporadic, start-stop performances. If this doesnt serve as a wake-up call for him to pull up his boot-straps and start performing consistently, nothing will. However, instead of Saha, I'd have picked Uthappa and played him as keeper-batsmen, of course, only after establishing that he's capable of keeping for 50 overs and batting as well. He did an adeuqate job for BRC in the IPL this year when they dropped Boucher for better team balance. Plus, its not like we havent fiddled around with makeshift keepers before. In fact, our most successful run in ODIs came at a time when Dravid was holding forte behind the stumps.
