Jersey #10 Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 :mi: Who would wanna let go of Sach? :yay::yay: Duniya hiladenge hum :yay: Why let go of Tiwari? He was worth Ambani's spare change after all. They could have renewed his contract for such a cheap price plus he was essential in the MI squad. K Pollard better be retained, he is worth all the money in the world. Since Uthappa is in the pool, I won't be surprised if MI picks him up. I would also want to see Malinga retained for MI. Is UV back in the auction pool? I say UV for :mi: bring in the moster :orderorder: Is Steyn being retained by RCB? Mumbai also needs a good opener since Sanath will be gone.

UV (a.k.a Ultra violent) can stay where he is, we at Mumbai Indians don't want/need it. We should retain Goddy, Zak, Bhajji, Pollard/Duminy.
Zap_Brannigan Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 His IPL 2010 stats over 14 games: Batting - 25@152 SR Bowling - 8.5 economy decent batting, ok bowling. He is no Malinga as a bowler, but is a good all rounder and given that SA players are available for most of the season, he would have been a good auction pick and CSK has wisely chosen not to lose him. he is the most valuable international player in the CSK team who is available to play the full season. Morkel is a decent pick mainly because the lack of good all-rounders in the world today. His role as a batsman was to come in the end and smash a few, which he is good at. But his role can be utilized only when we have good batsmen at the top i.e. when we have a batting line up of Hayden, Vijay, Badri, Raina and Dhoni before him. With 3 /5 retained and since CSK will get atleast 1 or 2 more good batsmen, he will fit in. But ofcourse, the question is about his bowling abilities. Is he really better than Murali, now that Ashwin is up for grabs? I would have preferred CSK to have retained Ashwin instead of Dhoni, but Dhoni is the face of CSK for many. Anyway, CSK is probably confident of getting a good spinner more than a good all-rounder in the auction and hence opted to retain him. I also have a feeling that getting other CSK players in the auction will really be tough since the other teams knows the value of players like Badri, Ashwin, Murali, Hussey, Bollinger and even Jakati, Balaji now. Remember that CSK got Badri, Vijay, Balaji, Jakati, Gony, Ashwin, Tyagi for 30,000 $ and Hussey, Bollinger for pretty low 6 figures.
Andy Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Ganguly with his slow strikerate and inconsistent performance will sabotage Mumbai's IPL chances :hmmm: Ganguly's Strike Rate has much to do with the Fact KKR's middle Order is fragile, Initially he cannot slog around the way he can. and has to make sure that he stays atleast 10 overs. Talking about Inconsistent Performance , How can one Make 500 runs in 14 matches being Inconsistent?

I didnt follow KKR properly but whenever i watched him bat, it made me cringe looking at him struggling. I was looking at my childhood hero failing and i tuned out KKR out of IPL. I am actually surprised that he got 500 runs.

Yes he struggled in the first 4-5 matches i Guess, From the KXIP match he was on a Run Making Spree, Goes on to say how well he did in the Last 8-9 Matches making almost 500 runs.
Andy Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 I wish i can see Goddy and Gangu Bat again, to Hell with KKR :P

I was looking at my childhood hero failing and i tuned out KKR out of IPL. I am actually surprised that he got 500 runs. Obviously he was not the player he used to be, and no one expects him to be either. He wasn't half as bad in the last season. His innings against DC & Royals were quite superb, IMO.
Andy Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 And one more thing, I'll take SR of 117 with an Average of 38 with 493 runs over Striker Rate of 130-140 with lesser number of Runs and Average below 30.

girishk14 Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 id like to see dhoni n sangakaara in the same team, it will be one big comedy
pensionplan Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 I wish i can see Goddy and Gangu Bat again' date=' to Hell with KKR :P[/quote']One thing I will tell you, I do not think Sachin would let a 20-20 mis-fit like Ganguly anywhere close to the MI'an camp if the aim is to win it all, what with all the dot-ball, refusing singles, sulk when asked to sit for a game or two etc. Who wants such a baggage. I understand some of the fanatics of Ganguly wanting to see him bat even if it means that will cost the team but no the better teams would want no part of this guy.

pensionplan Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 did you see Ganguly's performance in IPL3 ?Did you without the tainted glasses?
Sachin=GOD Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Did you without the tainted glasses? You have problems with Ganguly mainly because his strike rate is low and he wastes balls but even with open eyes you fail to see that KKR had no other batsman who was performing with the bat - Ganguly made 493 and the next highest was Gayle, who made 293. KKR and Delhi Daredevils were the only teams in IPL3 for whom only 1 batsman made more than 300 runs in the tournament. Now compare this to other teams - almost all the teams had 2 or 3 batsmen who contributed with the bat on a regular basis and made more than 300 runs. If there is only one person in the team who is scoring big runs then I can't blame him for scoring a bit slowly. KKR had Gayle who could have scored heavily but he was available only for about 9-10 matches so there was far greater pressure on Ganguly. I would absolutely love to see Goddy and Ganguly open the batting for MI.
vaibhav_delhi Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 I think Ganguly can still play....Dravid and Laxman may struggle to find takers in ipl 20-20.
Cricket_Guru Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 I Like Afridi in IPL in CSK or KKR :secret:
Zap_Brannigan Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 I Like Afridi in IPL in CSK or KKR :secret: I would drop dead before supporting a paki in CSK esp. the ball eating, i hate india but please IPL select me kind Why the fk do pak players even want to join after the humiliation they got last time? I understand that more pak players would sell their countries for a few buck but what about their personal dignity?? Or am i talking about concepts that pakis dont understand?
