putrevus Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 This ball is going to be used in South Africa and our bowlers especially spinners have not done well in countries where this ball is used with some very few exceptions. Kumble was never the same weapon abroad that he was in India but that might be because Kumble relied more uneven bounce than on spin which he never got when bowling overseas thus never won many matches for India abroad. Shane Warne and Murali have done exceptionally well with both Kookaburra ball and Duke and have struggled with SG ball .But Warne in general has never done well against Indians, Murali has very well with Kookaburra against Indians but struggled with SG. Swann has done very well with Duke and his sample size with other balls is very small to come to any definite conclusion. Bhajji has been struggling everywhere recently but he too has struggled with Kookaburra ball in past and with Duke he was okay in couple of matches. Zaheer Khan has also struggled with Kookaburra ball in past will it change this time we have to wait and see. So will the lack of penetration from our spinners and Zak with Kookaburra hamper Indians in south Africa.
