SA Test squad to face India

I think its a mistake on SA's part to leave out Duminy.

In SAF, ABD averages 36. 17 against India Kallis averages around 55 with average of 54 against India Smith averages 46 with average of 38 against India Prince averages 48 at home with a whopping average of 61 against India. Amla averages 41 at home and 15 against India at home. We need to keep guys like Kallis and Prince quiet and we should seriously kick some ass. I predict a 2-0 or a 2-1 series win in favor of India. Botha' date= Parnell and Duminy out of first Test South Africa squad for first Test: Graeme Smith (capt), Hashim Amla, Alviro Petersen, AB de Villiers, Jacques Kallis, Ashwell Prince, Mark Boucher (wk), Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Paul Harris, Lonwabo Tsotsobe/Ryan McLaren This SA squad is a little different from the previous SA teams that we have played in SA. Two apparent weaknesses this team has are 1. A struggling number 6 2. A long tail (even though Harris is decent enough bat) Now we will need to capitalise on these two. In many a tests in SA, we got the top order cheaply but then lower middle order used to fire and take SA to a strong position. The likes of Mcmillan and Pollock have hurt us so many times. Hopefully this time that will not be the case. .

Actually Prince at #6 is not a struggling batsman in my opinion. He is quite solid. In fact we have a pretty weak #6 and along with a number #5 who is struggling with with a bad back since last six month and even #3 who has been quite inconsistent with his form in recent tours. So we have our own problems to sort out. As for SA's long tail, is India's long any better? Or are you getting blinded by those two Bhajji tons against that Kiwi attack? Who can bat on bouncy decks from our tail? In my opinion, no one, just no one!! India has plenty of problems and I just don't agree with those blanket statements that it has a superb batting line up compared to none, this and that etc etc.... You just have to peek a little deep to find out the problems. I just hope that these cracks don't open up in this tour.

This is what I said in my post "This SA squad is a little different from the previous SA teams that we have played in SA". The post was about weaknesses in the SA team , so is it a surprise that I did not talk about our weaknesses in that post. On Prince, the guy averages 29 this year in 9 tests, hasn't yet hit a 100 and he isn't struggling? But our number 3 with an average of 49 this year (2 100s in his last series) and the number 5 with an average of 79 this year (despite his back problems) are struggling. On SA having a weaker tail, where did I say India has a strong tail. I am comparing the current SA team with the teams we have faced in the past and no where did I say that our tail is strong.
