vaibhav_delhi Posted December 5, 2010 Author Posted December 5, 2010 The same Ganguly who took India to the Finals of WC , jointly won CT 2002 (where Dhoni's poor Leadership was exposed) Beaten SA in India . . Dont need much to say what happened earlier this Year. And if one talk about W/L ratio Ponting is the greatest Ever Aussie Captain and Sangkara and Jayawardena > Ranatunga. One must be a "Filtered Moron" as someone rightly said before on this Page to bring in W/L ratio to measure greatness. As opposed to a complete moron, who hijacks the threads and tries to prove that the captain doesnt have the Final say on where a batter bats. you guys are funny::giggle:

BTW do you remember that it was Sachin who recommended the name of Dhoni to the selectors for the Captain of India..........this was revealed by Sharad Pawar last year :giggle:
vaibhav_delhi Posted December 5, 2010 Author Posted December 5, 2010 yes, the same Ganguly who taught us what it was to win outside of the sub-continest. The same Ganguly who backed players like Yuvraj, Bhajji, Zak, Viru, Irfan Pathan etc and now see where these players are. The same Ganguly who captained India after the very, very difficult period after the match fixing scandal. As far as Dhoni humbling Ganguly's W/L ratio is concerned, you have to remember that he's only captained 21 tests and also that teams like Aus, New Zealand etc have become very, very weak as compared to the time when Ganguly was captain so these stats DON'T tell the whole story. who was the captain when india lost the test series against Aussies at home 2-1? It was your ganguly. PS: I think he was a pretty good captain.
ZodiaC Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Guyz its high time to stop feeding the troal.. I mean how can you counter lahoree logic like this: I dont think there is much difference between Mcgrath or Akram Vs Steyn n dare I say Zak. I rest my case.

My friend this is the most stupid comment one can make, what can a captain do if the opposition becomes weak,I can counter that for Dada's captaincy by saying that Dada has captained more tests aginst Zim and Bang as coimpared to Dhoni, cut this idiotic reasoning out, though I also agree Dhoni still has many more difficult tests to pass to become best Indian captain
Sid Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 who was the captain when india lost the test series against Aussies at home 2-1? It was your ganguly. PS: I think he was a pretty good captain. Dravid was also captain for 2 tests in that series,so Dada solely cant be blamed:--D

Steyn is a very very good bowler man. I think you underestimate him. Regarding Zak, I was only talking about the recent form of last year and a half or so.
ZodiaC Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 who was the captain when india lost the test series against Aussies at home 2-1? It was your ganguly. PS: I think he was a pretty good captain. We went in without Sach for the first match.. Rain screwed our chances in the 2nd match.. BTW ganguly captained only 1 match IIRC. And the same ganguly won the epic 2001 series against the strongest Aussie side EVER.
vaibhav_delhi Posted December 5, 2010 Author Posted December 5, 2010 Dravid was also captain for 2 tests in that series' date='so Dada solely cant be blamed:--D[/quote'] gangs lost 1 drew 1 dravid lost 1 won 1

India under Ganguly started winning matches overseas with an unsettled team. Dhoni atleas should first play overseas to be worthy of comparison with not only ganguly but even dravid or kumble.

ZodiaC Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 gangs lost 1 drew 1 dravid lost 1 won 1 As I said we went n without tendiya in the 1st two tests. And 2nd tests was washed out, otherwisewe would've chased a relatively small target of 210 odd runs

Andy Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Where I ma saying gangs is bad.? He was pretty good. But Dhoni is way better. Without Playing Test series in SA, AUS, ENG, Wi?
