If you look at the stats both during Ganguly's time after his comeback and post his retirement, both Yuvraj and Raina have done better than Dada at no 6. Out of his Last 5 series Averaged 50 Up in 3 of them and 89 in one of them. Only Bad series he had was against SL where almost the whole team Failed. And He was Not good enough in AUS, now apart from Sach and Lax, Not many were good enough in that series too. those 100s and double 200s against pakiz were in drawn tests where india scored 600+ in an innings. When it mattered, he failed more often than not. Gillespie was also dropped after his double century , so what? ganguly averaged 35 in the year 2008 in his last 13 test matches .

So when have we started ignoring Runs that went for drawn cause? Then many of our Great batters will have their Stats cut out if you filter them with 'Matches Won'. And the Match Ganguly scored double Hundred India were 60/4 Batting First, we could have lost the Match. He scored that should be enough for the criteria that he 'Performed' or not. You are talking about Last 13 Matches, Dravid averaged 30 now? So accoring to your Logic Gangu >Dravid? BS. Talking about Gillespie being dropped after scoring 200, is another weird Logic here, Gillespie's main work was to get wickets, which he failed to do, Not scoring runs. Do you even know the difference between a Bowler and a Batsman? A bowlers Job is to get wickets, if he doesnt he can be dropped anytime no matter how many tons he scores, as his competition is with the bowlers. And Green Top? WTF you smoking , Green Top in Bangladesh? And Edit: Performance in Last 13 matches were average, You cant drop a Player for having average Stats When others were scoring Not better than him. Apart from SL series, let me know where he failed to be dropped?

If he failed with the ball, HE would be dropped because his primary function is bowling.
