The Boxing Day Test is THE showpiece cricketing event held every year at (in my view) the GREATEST cricket stadium in the country. The Adelaide Oval is nice (Link: http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=251093) but the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) is in a league of its own. 9186-200831-mcgaerialj.jpg I will be at the MCG for approximately the first half of the test and will be adding pictures/videos progressively. Can't wait. B->

I reckon it will be a sell out now, aussies must have thought the team had no chance a few days ago but now with the series level they will flock to the MCG

I was disappointed with the audience response at Adelaide and Brisbane, the last couple of days were played with just the Barmy Army in the crowd. However, Perth was well and truly fantastic. Maybe Australia doing well was a reason, but a lively wicket and full house made for really exciting cricket to the extent that I forgo watching India-South Africa on 2 days. I really hope MCG provides a good pitch. Ever since they started with the drop in pitches, the quality of cricket at the MCG has gone downhill. In the 80s and 90s the pitch used to be an excellent cricket wicket - starting off with pace and carry for the fast bowlers, and swing if there were clouds, and the last innings used to be on a terrible wicket for batting with cracks and low bounce. These days the wicket just dies. I read a report that they are changing the pitch at the 11th hour - hopefully the change would be for better cricket. Looking forward to some good pics and videos from Sree! :two_thumbs_up:

I will definitely try to upload some good pictures/videos. I will be there for approximately the first .5 of the test.
The first three days were a sell out; I was at the Adelaide Oval from days 2 - 4 and I felt the atmosphere was absolutely fantastic. I tried to capture this atmosphere in the following pictures:

Cant wait just to see it on TV in HD, really must be one of the greatest experiences in sport to see a test match with such a huge crowd. Also just thought of something, maybe some english fans with tickets will be stranded at heathrow and not be able to make the game which will be a bit ****. Anyway enjoy the game, im pretty jealous.

Dude.. how was your experience for the Boxing day? Epic fail for the Aussies...and the stadium was like 3/4 empty during the last couple hours. Never seen anything like this for the biggest test match of the year.

Would of been a depressing game to be at haha

I wouldn't say depressed haha, but just dissapointed about the lack of fight. Was very embarrasing. Didn't actually watch the match, but I thought after seeing us 4 down we were in trouble however thought maybe in front of such a big crowd with the ashes level we could pull off a respectable score.. got home to see us all out for 98 and England 0-157.. says it all really..

I am disappointed at the lack of fight but such things happen in life. Just have to take them in your stride, learn the lessons and move on. I have no regrets. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I will be going again tomorrow. Preperations for next years Boxing Day Test with India will start in early to mid 2011. I will upload the pictures when I get home.
