Who was the better bowler - Marshall or Tendulkar?

I think Tendulkar was overall the better bowler for the following reasons : 1. He could bowl seam, swing, off spin, and leg spin. Marshall was just all about pace. 2. Tendulkar had a deadly googly. Marshall tried perfecting it throughout his career in the nets, but was never brave enough to use it in a test match. 3. Tendulkar defended 4 runs off the last over in a high pressure final. Marshall was never able to do it. 4. Just look at their first series where they took a wicket. Tendulkar averaged 4 with the ball in Australia with a strike rate of 10 in the '92 series in Australia. Marshall's figures were average of 88 and strike rate of 150. 5. Tendulkar won arguably the greatest test of all time at Calcutta 2001 with the ball. Marshall did not even feature in a test like that, forget about winning. 6. Tendulkar also won the India the test at Adelaide turning it out of the rough. Marshall could never get as much turn as that. His wickets mainly came from straighter deliveries. Tendulkar was just too burdened with responsibilities of captaincy, batting, and the expectations of a billion people to utilize his potential to the fullest extent, but man for man there is no doubt he was miles and away a better bowler than Marshall.

Yeah, Malcolm Marshall. Think he was overrated and bowled with a lot of support from other teammates. Tendulkar was the lone ranger in a depleted attack. Also, the conditions in Marshall's days were much more bowler friendly than in Tendulkar's era.

OMG are you the same person that was laughing at me for saying swann isnt better than harbhajan. at this stage i would love to come out with stupid comments like "hilarious/classic stuff". but i cant......reason being that i actually feel like crying at the stupidity of your comment. malcolm marshall is widely acknowledged as the best seam bowler of all time capable of bowling in all conditions. the comment is not fuelled by revenge and to prove it i will swear by god: your post is obviously the most stupid comment i've ever read on this forum. i do not have enough words in my vocabulary to describe how amazed i am that you had the bravery to even post this.

I completely agree with you. However, the problem here is not Indian fans, it is the lunatics who go around masquerading as Tendulkar fans. One such guy suggested Tendulkar and Sobers' bowling are comparable - I mean why stop the lunacy at comparing bowling of someone who bowled 40 overs per match with someone who bowls 4 overs per match? Someone who took 2.5 wickets per match with someone who takes 0.25 wickets per match? Let's got the full nine yards and compare to Marshall. Oh, but then the standards of ICF start getting effected, not when a legend like Sobers is being mocked at by comparing his bowling with Tendulkar?
