i personally have stated before that this format does not suit us at all.we win by outbatting our opponents and the chances are our batting will come up short atleast 1 of the 3 knockout games.

Stop making excuses, it's the same format for every team. To those who say it's better suited for Australia, must I remind you that we have won the past 3 WC's under the Super 8 format. I personally don't like this format at all, I think the Super 8 format works much better but it is what it is and at the end of the day it's just the one extra knockout game.

Nobody really said that Aus didnt deserve to win in the last 3 WC. There might have been SA in 99 and India in 03 who did really well up until they lost to Aus, but no one really believes it was a fluke. This format is not liked by many mainly because, most probably, 42 out of the 49 games could be meaning less and dont think that the QF,SF,Final is really the best format for cricket with only 8 good teams.

If I talk of purely hypothetical situations, In fact the format could work to our advantage. We have got SA, England, WI, BD, Ireland and Holland in our group. I am fairly confident we have the ability to win all 6 matches (or at least 5) in the group stage. This will mean us topping the group B. The we will face the side ranked 4 in group A (most likely NZ as you would expect Australia, SL and Pakistan to take the top 3 spots). From hre on 3 good days and we are world champs :--D. Yes the danger is about having one bad day which could knock us off the tournament, but at home I don't see us having a bad day right through the tournament!!

Against Pak we are 9-17 at home in Odi's.Believe me Pakistan enjoys playing against India, especially in India. We can't beat Australia at home.Face it.Even against a 3rd string Aussie team.We must rely on someone else to knock them out.(btw India has not beaten Aus in an ODI series at home since 1986,last time we lost to possibly the worst Aussie ODI unit in history) RSA has an even-stevens record in India. WI enjoys flogging India in knockouts(remember how they kicked us out of the 06 CT in India). Lanka and England are as good as India.

I never said people said it was a fluke haha, I was saying that about people who think that this new format is suited better to Aus and not for India.

You folks are full of negative energy that's bcoz you have been following India since 80s and your mind is full of doubts having had to put up with the Samir Dighes, Dasguptas, Dodda Ganeshs, Bhardwajs, Ankolas & co. :headshake: Well, this is new India under Captain Fantastic Mahi and we'll win The Cup :isalute:
