Plz compare the two boxing day test pitches..which is the tougher wicket to bat on?

Very easy,this is the tougher pitch and also the overcast conditions

MCG was a relatively slower deck with lot of early movement till there were overcast conditions. Durban is much more livelier with more bounce and the overhead conditions are aiding a lot of movement.But honestly some of the shots that our batsmen played weren't needed IMO. When set batsmen get out playing shots like those, you cannot always blame the pitch.

Melbourne pitch has already lost its sting..as usual its slow and probably it will help Swann later

Durban pitch will get quicker once it becomes dry.

It was a kind of a pitch where you are never in..especially when opposition has bowlers like Steyn and Morkel...they played their shots because there were not many options...otherwise they could have been 134/6...Dravid tried to play cautiously, he got a beauty.....they bowled some unplayable deliveries..especially Styen...

Bump... here into the third day of both Boxing day test, we have two similar pitches with little bit for the bowlers At MCG India lost 8 for 68 and Aus lost 4 for 27 At Durban south africa were skittled for 168 What do you think which was the better pitch and when i say better i mean in general and not for batting or bowling individually. Plus the fact that both pitches are pretty sure result oriented pitches... i say MCG is the better one of the two with Durban looking a little slow this time...

Durban has plenty for spinner as well..but when ball gets older its much easier to bat in Durban...in Melbourne if you pitch in right areas you have help all throughout.
