Pathetic indian bowling and mindset

The biggest culprit of the day was not having the 3rd slip when they decided to do away with that. But for that folly we would not be having this thread and all the second guessing given that Kallis would have been in the hut and Amla and Devillars dismissed earlier than when they eventually got out. MSD after winning the toss should have been more aggressive with the field placements in the slip cordon under those overcast conditions. Otherwise the whole purpose of bowling upon winning the toss is defeated.

^you keep saying over cast conditions, it just lasted for 2 hours..and after second bad light stop...sun was out and light was very good, play lasted till 7 PM..

That grass is already dead..when sun started to beat on it. As per pitch reports deck is flat and full of runs. Average score is misleading check out some of the score in last 10 years 95 (SL) 239 (Australia chased 331 in 4th innings) 620 532 441 54 (Zimbabwe) 205 593 (NZLand) 414 (India) 157 (Pakistan) 243 (WI) 209 273 You can see big scores as well as 250 scores.. We did bowl well, but yes we could have bowled well, but you are saying ours was lack of effort, thats what I don't agree. The last bowl of the day, Ishant bowls ripper...now how can he do that last bowl of the over if there was no effort or lack of motivation.
yes, definitely there was lack of effort from sreesanth. although he got 2 wickets with the pace of 128kmps and 129 kmps he would have been lethal if he is allowed to bowl with freedom.dhoni coming out in the press conference and condeming our own bowler is not gonna help him psychollagicaly.

I think we still stand a chance, infact strong chance if we can get them under 310-320. But thats too difficult as the sun is out now. Tomorow's first session would be very important, The new ball willbe due within few overs. Will be interesting to see our tactics.

^again thats what you think. SS was getting out of control..when he was hit for 6, then 4 went thru the slip...Sachin and Bhajji calmed him and told him to keep doing what he is doing. Btw Zaheer was also down on pace..so why only SS is culprit??

^you keep saying over cast conditions' date=' it just lasted for 2 hours..and after second bad light stop...sun was out and light was very good, play lasted till 7 PM..[/quote']Still even if I concede and retract on the overcast conditions part a little bit with what was on display 3 slips and a gully is a must. I do not care even if I concede a few boundaries in the outfield but would want to pouch on to all edges as best as I can and 3 slips gives a better chance than 2 and literally Kallis, Amla and DeVilliars all had genuine edges that went by where a third slip would have been. You always play by the percentages in Test cricket and things will go your way eventually.

^oh I did...even pace of Zaheer Khan was down..why didn't you comment on that...If you like pace why follow indian team, I can suggest you a team to follow which has meat eating pace bowlers. Sreesanth bowled well, with luck he could had couple more. IF you don't understand these things you are watching wrong sport
zaheer is aged enuf to be uncle. i dont expect him to bowl quick. yes i like pace. didnt our bowlers bowled with pace in the previous match? what happened now? are they too tired to bowl in overcast conditions? i was particularly disappointed with sree.

The poster whom I address son so far has no problem so why are you butting in?? If he has problem' date=' he can PM me and I will apologize.[/quote'] Its not between you, him/her. Its about the quality of the board. This kind of posts often induces people to get personal with eachother. I have faced similar things in the past hence didnt wanted this thread to be derailed. If you dont get it, Then its waste of time arguing and derailing this thread.

zaheer has got more skills than any other indian bowler. he can still manage with that pace. i doubt sree or ishant got skills like him.

^but Zaheer got only 1 wicket that too his bunny...so he is not culprit of lack of effort?? No? His pace was down since last game... But Sree who got two wickets and looked like getting more was not bowling well or somehow he was told not to bowl well..wow I am enlightened

Hmm...Looks like we were watching a different game. The last two spells from SS were quite good in which he got the wicket of AB De with a good one that was nicked and another that squared Kallis for an edge a third slip would have comfortably held on to. All said and done he was quite good. Unless you want to be hung up on speeds there is much more on display from SS today that was impressive.

:hysterical: Where did i compare our bowling effort of the first test with that of 3rd test? You must be reading something else, My nightmare is Saffers bowling performance in the First test, the way they bowled on a Flat deck in the 2nd innings. Read the posts properly before calling anyone stupid Duh!
