rkt, Deodhar or Ranji are NOT ODI! They are just one dayers or list A matches. As for your suggestion, yes, I completely agree that they don't need to have any T20 domestic tournament, when we already have a ten team IPL which runs for 6 weeks, much more than any FC tournament. As for Deodhar, I'd like to have them, and would like them to be played by the same set of players who came out as cream of the crop for Duleep trophy. These guys don't need to play the Ranji FC or Ranji One dayers. It should be like this: Club cricket---->Ranji trophy------>Duleep trophy----->test cricket Each should be one level above the other and mutually exclusive. Hence in one season, if you are chosen for Duleep trophy, you'll be playing that as it'll be a promotion from Ranji trophy. Same in 50 over format too. If we don't narrow down the teams from 27 to 5-6, we'll NEVER have a competitive domestic system! And Makrand Waingankar talks about similar things but then he talked about some corporate tournament which I failed to understand about: Anyone knows what corporate tournaments is he talking about? The kind of Corporate trophy we have now or some Pakistan style domestic tournament? If it is the latter, then this writer needs to give up writing soon!
