Swinging wildly for the ball and getting out would have demonstrated a lack of nerve. From what I could see every wicket was the result of truly impressive English bowling. Incredibly destructive once he gets going but doesn't always last long enough. Thats why he's mostly used as a 20/20 player I think the management wanted to blood Du Plessis and Van Wyk quickly as we'll be losing two of our best batsmen in Kallis and Smith after the cup and we need someone to take their place Both Van Wyk and Du Plessis are excellent players, take it from someone who's seen them play locally, but they are inexperienced at the international level and will be nervous for a while Albies currently taking his frustration out on opponents in the local tournament:winky:

Think that Smith is going to play for a while though.

When he burst on to the international scene he looked like one of the most talented youngsters and made some big scores but since then he seems to have completely disappeared.

I think Kallis is retiring from ODIs after the cup and Smith probably won't be far behind In any case it's best we get new players into the team to settle in as soon as possible

But I think in SA (unlike countries like Pakistan or West Indies) unless he has a definite place in the team, he may not be made a permanent captain.
