Tikolo scored 126 not out off 126 balls, with 12 boundaries and two sixes, batting through from the fourteenth over till the end. After Seren Waters was bowled by Hamid Hassan off the second ball of the match, Collins Obuya scored a quick 49, and then Tikolo and Tanmay Mishra put together 103 for the fourth wicket. Wicketkeeper Maurice Ouma added 33 off 35 balls as Kenya reached a strong total. Afghanistan's chase got off to a brisk start, but was derailed by the loss of three wickets within the first ten overs. Seamer Peter Ongondo took two of the early wickets, and Afghanistan found themselves 48 for 3. Nawroz Mangal steadied the innings with his 42 off 64 balls, and then Mohammad Nabi upped the scoring rate with his 46 off 35. Afghanistan were able to stay abreast of the asking rate, but lost too many wickets. Kenya's spinners did the damage for them. Captain Jimmy Kamande took 3 for 34 with his offspin, while left-arm spinner Shem Ngoche also took three wickets, though he was expensive, giving away 76 runs in his nine overs. Zimbabwe defeat Ireland by six wickets zim vs ire Zimbabwe recorded a convincing six wicket against Ireland in their warm-up game in Dubai. Their win was set up after an opening stand of 58 in just 12 overs between Brendon Taylor and Charles Coventry.The dismissal of Charles Coventry, bowled by Alex Cusack for 26, with the total on 58 offered Ireland some hope as they looked to defend their modest total. Cusack claimed a second wicket shortly after, when Gary Wilson took a fine catch to dismiss Regis Chakabva for just 8, to leave the score on 70 for 2. Sean Williams (25) was particularly severe on George Dockrell, who conceded 20 runs in his opening two overs. Andre Botha claimed a welcome wicket, as William's cameo was ended when Paul Stirling hung onto a sharp chance to leave Zimbabwe on 102 for 3, but very much still in control. Taylor was joined by Irish passport holder Craig Ervine, and the pair ensured there was no further alarms for their side until the scores were level. The pair doubled the total from 102 to 204 in a 4th wicket partnership in which they were rarely troubled by the Irish attack. Ervine (47) went to a Trent Johnston catch from the bowling of Kevin O'Brien, but just two balls later a boundary from Chigumbura sealed the win. Earlier, Ireland's cricketers threw away a promising start to finish on 204 all out. 66 from skipper William Porterfield and 45 from Ed Joyce had led the side to a commanding 111 for 1, after Paul Stirling went for just 6 early on. The pair added 105 for the second wicket before Joyce was unluckily run out, when a Porterfield drive was deflected onto the stumps by the bowler. That saw the Ireland side collapse as they lost 7 wickets for just 43 runs as they were reduced to 154 for 8. Spinners Greg Lamb (3-30) and Graeme Cremer (2-20) did the damage, while Andre Botha was another victim of a run-out. In the end it took 41 from Andrew White to get the team past the 200 mark, as the middle order crumbled against the Zimbabwe attack, with Niall O'Brien (1), Kevin O'Brien (0), and Gary Wilson (2) all falling in single figures. The game is an uncapped 12 a side fixture, which means John Mooney remains on 99 caps for Ireland. Ireland left out Nigel Jones and Albert van der Merwe from their side, while Boyd Rankin is currently at a fast bowling camp in India. George Dockrell didn't feature in the batting, but is included in the bowling XI. Ireland are next in action on Tuesday when they play Kenya, while Zimbabwe face The Netherlands the following day. Ireland and Zimbabwe meet again in Nagpur on February 15th in an official warm-up match ahead of the World Cup proper.

Canada too strong for the Netherlands Canada got their World Cup campaign off to a promising start with a four-wicket victory over The Netherlands in a warm-up match at the Global Cricket Academy in Dubai on Sunday, but it was a disappointing performance by a Dutch side which was without injured skipper Peter Borren. Things went badly for the men in orange from the outset; put in to bat after Ash Bagai won the toss for Canada, they lost openers Alexei Kervezee and Wesley Barresi to two strikes by Khurram Chauhan in the space of the first five overs. Eric Szwarczynski and Tom de Grooth set about rebuilding the innings, but when Bagai introduced Harvir Singh Baidwan into the attack he removed Szwarczynski with his second delivery and the Dutch were again in trouble at 37 for three. Bas Zuiderent soon followed, but then De Grooth and Atse Buurman produced the best partnership of the innings, putting on 45 for the fifth wicket. Slow left-armer Parth Desai removed both of them with consecutive deliveries, however, and the Netherlands were on a precarious 98 for six, struggling to set a reasonable target with two new batsmen at the crease. De Grooth had made 41 from 49 balls with six fours, while Buurman’s 30 came from 47 balls. Brad Kruger and Mudassar Bukhari added 32 in twelve overs, but when leg-spinner Balaji Rao dismissed Bukhari and Pieter Seelaar soon afterwards, the writing was on the wall. Kruger (25) and Adeel Raja were both run out, and the innings closed on 151, the Dutch having committed the cardinal sin of failing to use more than five overs of their allotted portion. There were two wickets apiece for Chauhan, Baidwan, Patel and Balaji Rao, with the latter’s two for 12 from six overs the best figures. The Netherlands were given hope, though, when Bukhari had Hiral Patel caught behind by Buurman with the very first ball of the Canadian reply, and with John Davison trapped by the same bowler in his third over the Netherlands were clawing their way back into the game. Bukhari struck again in his next, Ravindu Gunasekera providing a second catch for Buurman, and Canada were 17 for three. Ash Bagai made 20 before he became Buurman’s third victim, off the bowling of Berend Westdijk this time, and at 35 for four the game was in the balance. But Zurbin Surkhari was now joined by Jimmy Hansra, and these two added a precious 41 for the fifth wicket, Surkhari eventually falling to Adeel Raja for 23. Hansra continued in tandem with Tyson Gordon, adding another 58 before Bukhari returned and induced Gordon, on 25, to edge to Buurman, a fourth wicket for both bowler and keeper. Only 18 were now needed, however, and there was room for Hansra to reach a maiden half-century for Canada as he and Rizwan Cheema saw their side home without further loss and with more than ten overs to spare. Hansra’s not-out 52 came from 85 deliveries with five fours and a six. Kenya, Zimbabwe continue to impress Kenya won their second successive warm-up game, chasing down Ireland's 176 despite losing seven wickets in the end at the ICC Global Cricket Academy. Maurice Ouma led the chase with a patient half-century after Seren Waters and David Obuya had given Kenya a quick start, putting on 46 inside nine overs. Andre Botha, who was the pick of the Irish bowlers, dismissed the openers but Ouma found enough support in Collins Obuya and Rakep Patel to take Kenya closer. A clutch of wickets fell towards the end, but Kenya finally closed out the game in the 46th over. The fact that Ireland managed what they did was largely due to Ed Joyce. He rebuilt the innings in the company of the tail after Kenya's seam attack had run through seven Irish batsmen for 63 runs. Nehemiah Odhiambo, Peter Ongondo, Elijah Otieno and Thomas Odoyo were more than a handful, and despite a steady start at 52 for 2, Ireland lost the next five wickets for 11. But Joyce and Andrew White dug in to take them past 100, and the tail managed to play out all but one of the 50 overs to guide them to 176, which proved too little in the end. After the win against Afghanistan two days ago, this victory will further boost Kenya's confidence that would have been dented heavily after they lost all five games to sides comprising mostly of age-group players on their recent tour of Indian state Gujarat. Zimbabwe made short work of Netherlands at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, rustling up 249 and then blowing Netherlands away for 134. Brendan Taylor made another half-century at the top of the order, and there were also useful contributions from Tatenda Taibu and Regis Chakabva. But Mudassar Bukhari and Bernard Loots took some quick wickets as Zimbabwe slipped to 158 for 7 at one stage. Graeme Cremer responded with a run-a-ball 42, and together with Prosper Utseya and Shingirai Masakadza took Zimbabwe to the brink of 250. Chris Mpofu and Elton Chigumbura tore through Netherlands after Ed Rainsford had provided an early breakthrough, taking six wickets between them. Netherlands lost regular wickets and were never in the game, getting bowled out for 134 in the 34th over. Opener Alexei Kervezee's 33 was the highest score for them. Bukhari hammered two sixes in his 28 and Bradley Kruger three fours in his 22, but there was not much else to cheer about. Afghanistan shot out Canada for 105, and then chased down the target with more than 26 overs to spare in Dubai. Hamid Hassan, the Afghanistan captain, and Shapoor Zadran almost ended the match as a contest soon after Canada chose to bat, sending back half the side with eight runs on the board. But Khurram Chohan and Jimmy Hansra stuck in to make twenties, and Balaji Rao and Harvir Baidwan took Canada just past 100. Mirwais Ashraf ensured Canada didn't have too much of a recovery, taking 4 for 39. Canada's bowlers tried gamely, but there weren't enough runs to defend. Kenya bank on Rhodes' support Kenya batsman Collins Obuya has said the inclusion of Jonty Rhodes as part of the team's support staff for the 2011 World Cup has been a major boost for preparations ahead of the tournament. Rhodes was hired as Kenya's fielding coach and took charge during a three-week training camp in Pretoria in November last year. "Jonty's had a good rub-on-effect on all of us," Obuya, who began his career as a legspinning allrounder and is now a frontline batsman, said at the team's press conference in Colombo. "He has infused confidence that we can just go out there and play." Kenya have played every World Cup since 1996 and have pulled off a couple of surprises. They beat West Indies in the 1996 World Cup in Pune and qualified for the semi-final in 2003 with victories over Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in the lead-up to the knockout stage. Their squad includes two veterans who featured in the 1996 edition - Steve Tikolo and Thomas Odoyo - and is led by offspinning allrounder Jimmy Kamande. "The 2003 semis spot was a dream for us," Kamande said. "We will take each game as it comes, and try to be consistent with bat, ball and fielding. "We are looking at building our team over the next 10 years. For that we have to be consistent." Kenya begin their World Cup campaign on February 20, taking on New Zealand in Chennai.

this is a very nice site. Kenyan team will be come back it may show the positive cricket in this world cup. when Kenya come in first world cup they beat Wes indies. it was the great come back for them. the all the non test teams will fight better in this world cup, the Kenyan team is in Group A, which may give the tough time to Sri Lanka Cricketteam,New Zealand and Pakistan Cricket teams because last two world cup matches Kenya shoe his best ability.

Ireland v New Zealand @Nagpur The Irish bowlers vs Kiwi batsmen should be a intriguing contest. Prolly the third most competitive match of the day. But, you never know with these minnows. South Africa v Zimbabwe @Chennai Hope Zimboks don't wilt under pressure like they always do, when they come across their cross-country rivals. Just like any other crowd in the world, the MAC faithfuls will be fully behind the underdogs. In Utseya, Price, Lamb and Cremer, Zim have the attack for the slow/low wickies and they'll be playing their group matches in Sri Lanka. Cremer is fast developing into a very good leggie.
