What the logic behind wanting Gambhir over Ganguly or Pathan the only two batsman got some runs in side game ?

India will want to go in with 6 batsmen and no way will IKP be a specialist bat- even though he may be playing better than a few of the top 6. Really not that many problems- the six batsmen pick themselves...VVSL didnt do too bad in the second innings vs R.O SAf...Jaffers there because he scored a few opening for India and FOR NOW hes the man with Sewhag at the top. This series might change that but lets hope not. In any case I really cant see GG faring any better. No non specialist openers as Vengy said Bowlers- VRV,Sree,Zak, Kumble
