Widow chops off man’s penis after he tries to rape her

A 37-year-old widow chopped off a man’s penis when the latter attempted to sexually assault her at a village in outer Delhi, police said. According to the police, the incident was reported from Bakhtawarpur, a village in outer Delhi’s Alipur, on Sunday evening. “The victim’s husband passed away a few years ago and she’s been a loner ever since. Used to mostly staying indoors, she claims the accused, Jeevat, barged into her house last evening and tried to rape her,” said a senior police officer. The police said that the woman fought back as soon as Jeevat entered the house. He attacked her with a tool when she resisted him. She somehow managed to make her way to the kitchen and returned with a knife. She then, according to the police, chopped off Jeevat’s exposed penis and screamed for help as he fell to the ground writhing in pain. “Her neighbours rushed to the house and one of them informed us about the incident. Jeevat was rushed to the Maharaja Harishchandra hospital where his condition is stable, but doctors said that he had lost his penis,” the officer said. Jeevat’s statement will be recorded by the police after he recovers. The woman has been detained for questioning and a case has been registered at the Alipur police station.
