Salute to Afridi

So your post is a fact and other folks are simply blind patriots... let me go through your post again... Laugh away... just hope that Afridi doesn't have the last laugh. Pakistan team have their quirks, but make no mistake, they have an excellent bowling attack in Afridi, Umar Gul and even Shoaib Akhtar..... it was 100 times better bowling than what the Indians dished up against mediocre B'desh. Misbah-ul- haq looks in ominous form and both the Akkmal brothers are very, very fast and fit and give 200 % in the field. The less said about the Indian fielding, the better. You better pray that the top 3-4 Indian batsmen click in every match as that's the only hope that India has.... make a 300+ score in every match and somehow restrict the opposition to less than 300 ! So as per you Pak bowling is 100 times better than India's just coz Pak bundled out Kenya cheaply!!! India is not ranked 2 in the world and 1 in tests without bowling decently. To win matches you still have to restrict or bowl out your opponents. On the other hand Pak are ranked no. 6 with their "100 times better" bowling. And you are slating Indian fielding by comparing the fielding to Akmal!!! Isn't Akmal the guy who dropped 3 straight-forward catches and then messed a simple run-out by not even managing to remove the bail in one of the key matches Pak played recently? Now who's a blind patriot and who is stating facts?
1. Pak bowling is 100 times better because of the sharp, incisive QUALITY of their bowling compared to the lacklustre, boring, insipid Indian bowling.... nothing to do with bundling out Kenya. Good bowling isn't just about restricting run-rates but also about taking WICKETS at crucial times.. 2. Again, ranking and dropped catches in previous matches mean little in the present WC. Didn't you hear Umar Akkmal in the post-match interview ? Obvoiusly not ! These guys are aware of their weaknesses and have been PRACTISING and PRACTISING to remove those weaknesses..... while Dhoni has been visting Jharkhand in the middle of WC because Minister called him ! Shows his dedication and priorities

Shahid Afridi is the best all rounder in the world after Shakib' date= also he has the best hair in the world too.
I do not agree on both the statements. The best all-rounder is Kallis and Afridi can never be considered as a Test all-rounder.

If you are saying PAkistan bowling attacks in the previous years, I would agree with you, but current bowling attack is average at best, which can do well provided the pitch provides the help. Umar Gul is a good death bowler but not really one to open the bowling. Wahab Riaz has not impressed that much. Akhtar still has the pace but is wayward in line and length. Ajmal is a decent bowler, Hafeez is Average. Afridi is inconsistent.

How do past matches mean nothing? Are you saying the only sample you have taken is Pak Vs Kenya and Ind Vs B'desh? All your analysis are based on these two games? If that's the case your logic is so flawed it doesn't even merit discussion. So with this INCISIVE and HIGH QUALITY bowling Pak are currently ranked 6 in odis. But wait, the rankings don't count as they performed so well against Kenya! And India are pathetic coz they bowled poorly against B'desh - of course the fact they scored 370 and obviously would take things lightly doesn't factor in the discussion. And neither does India's performance in warm-ups where they bowled pretty well but as you say "it's in the past"

So your sample size is 1. You are not worth debating .:crazy4:

Speaking of bowling attacks. Pakistani bowlers wasn't even able to hit the stumps even once in the India Pakistan t20 match in that bowl out. But guess what Pak fans were still happy that they bowled faster than the Indians.

Folks, even though a thread already exists but I think the great accomplishment of breaking the record for best bowling performance as a captain against the mighty Kenyans (who made the world cup semis in 2003 while Pakistan was knocked off in the preliminary stages) definitely deserves another. In fact there's a long list of accomplishments and records already achieved by the great man and I would like to refresh the memory of cricket fans on this glorious occasion... 1. Highest number of retirements in a year 2. Lowest number of Tests played between "retirements" - I think 2  3. Highest number of balls eaten during a game 4. Maximum amount of time spent dancing on a pitch - 4 to mins I think but may have to check with Pak scorers who were keeping time  5. Highest number of slogs not to connect with the ball 6. Lamest excuse ever made at the ICC disciplinary hearing - "I wasn't eating/tampering the ball, I was only smelling it with my mouth" :haha: 7. Least amount of average time spent by a batsman on the pitch per innings to average 24 8. "Youngest" player to play cricket in any form - legend has it that Afridi first played for his school side when he was just shy of his 2nd B'day and the kid was such a "beast" even at that age that he was taller and stronger than 8 year olds who played in the match  9. The first player ever to wear sunglasses in a night game - closely followed by most of the Pak team when they were able to get their hands on the sunglasses via their sponsors 10. The first player, maybe first human as well, to defy nature and remain a 28 year old in 2011 after being born in 1972 :hail: I, and all the cricket fans, are in awe of such great accomplishments and I doff my hat to one and only Shahibzada Noorzada Haramzada Mohammad Shahid Khan "The Beast" Afridi :hatsoff: I am blessed to see the talented 24 year old with so much "potential" to add one more record to his name and hope we will get to see many more over the years!

+1. Couldn't put it better myself:--D. It completely ignores Afridi's amazing talent and focuses on his eccentricities .
