Chanderpaul - 891 runs - last WC Jayawardene - 773 runs - maybe one more Styris - 767 runs - last WC Tikolo - 739 runs - last WC Sehwag - 673 - one more Sangakkara - 667 - maybe one more Sarwan - 635 - one more Smith - 609 - one more Whatever, Tendulkar ends up with it's impossible to imagine anyone of the above topping that. This is a record unlikely to be broken for at least 20-30 years, and he has already held it for 8.

theanalyst Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Just looked through some stats since I love numbers. Can't see anyone getting so many in the future. He could easily add another 300-400 this tournament which would take it to close to 2,500 runs. I don't think that anyone will play 6 WCs again. Even 5 is tough. It would then mean that a player would have to score an average of 500 runs per tournament. 500 in a tournament has been made only 5 times and Tendulkar has himself done it twice. No one else has done it more than once.

b555 Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 I had wanted to do this AFTER the WC was over in my Stats thread for SRT :whine: but the key thing to note here is that he missed out in 1999 and 2007 because of the retarded decision to play him at #4 ... just imagine what might have been had he played as a opener in all the WC's . playing him at #4 was the worst ever decisions its like bringing in the brahmastra after all the damage is done
