Yes, Bollinger was key to Chennai winning the IPL, but then, so was Ashwin. Dhoni didn't hesitate to use Ashwin in the few matches, and if Ashwin could prove to be handy in T20 cricket, then why couldn't he be used in a 50 over game? That's what I seriously can't get my head around. I hate to say this and the last thing I'd want to do at this point is to being regionalism into the debate, but I can't help going in that direction. Dhoni always seems to be having some kind of mental block against the South players. When Sreesanth goofed up in one match, Dhoni lambasted him, but Piyush Chawla got all the support from Dhoni even when he ended up playing badly. Ashwin hasn't got a chance till date, Dinesh Karthik was left out of the squad as a supposed second wicketkeeper if Dhoni was ever to get injured.. the list is very long. he dint try Ashwin just like that.. it took lotsa of matches and loses for him to try ashwin.. in a sense he dint have any choice but to play Ashwin..

I dont think its that way both SriKanth and Dhoni are partners in crime while selecting the team , Murali Vijay was given so many chances to seal his spot but he couldnt , Ashwin would be used as a secret weapon , Dhoni could have opted for Ojha who has more experience but choose Ashwin . Regarding the bias , Dhoni certainly has some especially against the seniors of the side , he was the reason why Ganguly and Dravid were forced out of the Odi Team /Test Team , he wants to get rid of all the seniors so that he becomes the ultimate Boss with his chamchas dominating the team .

I honestly cannot see what Dhoni saw in Jogi when he selected him for IPL as well as T20 WC. He almost screwed it up for us in the T20WC final until Misbah intervened with a even bigger screw-up. Same story with selecting Parthiv over Vijay. It is not Dhoni's prudence, but necessity that forced the inclusion of Ashwin and Vijay. If this change never happened, we would have been no where near the IPL nor CL trophies. I don't know why Dhoni so short sighted and stubborn most of the time :((
