After seeing Indian cricket on the way up, have we regressed back to the 90s? Sachin is still in pristine form, not too different from his peak. But the rest of the team seem to be making up the numbers. As soon as Sachin departed, all others dutifully gifted their wickets away. Why do we need to go for mindless slogs just because its a powerplay? Its the same "Sachin OUT, TV off" routine!! :((

Because they couldnt play their natural games thats why, you cant ask people who are used to bulding innings to go in and slog in the end.

thats what i was saying even if sachin and gambhir took singles we would have reached 325+
If England would have taken singles against India that day they would have won. If South Africa would have taken singles against England that day , they would have won. Leave the ifs and buts and enjoy the cricket. Agree the collapse was real bad but it happens when top order gets out at wrong time at start of pplay and with less overs left the pressure is on middle order to go from the word go.. Itw as middle order who took us home in past couple of games. Just chill

No its not. We have basically collapsed in every match we played.
different collapses....Middle order didnt collapse last 2 games. come back again

That is false. Viru, Gauti still played well. Yuvi made 3 fifties in a row. Kohli is in good form. Problem is we have to tinker with the approach of the batting. When they take power play and a wicket falls.. they better go easy for couple more overs before opening out. India's problem is death over batting. Nothing more. We have to fix it. How to go about it. THere must be some strategy. There must be a minimum target which is run a ball and a maximum target. Make an attempt at maximum target. If doesn't go well at the start shut everything down and go for minimum target. Today they should have gone for 60 runs in the last10 overs

Sachin and Gambhir were the set batsmen. Atleast one fo them should have carried us through to atleast the middle of it if not the end. How can you expect a new batsman liek Pathan, Yuvraj, Dhoni etc to go from the word go. It will happen but not all the time. Just chill

The thing is...we went for a 375 score and that is the biggest mistake...just play the ball on it merits...we were easily getting 6 an over. Depending on the batsmen left is not the way...it will take them a while to get set to get into proper hitting mode...no matter their reputation. Should only start hitting out in the 44th over or so...we could have got 375 even then.
