Spinners in the world cup

Just checked and Bhajji has dropped from the wicket taking bowlers list completely. Bhajji is a good bowlers but all other teams are using spinners as their trump cards whereas Bhajji is not even bowling 20% of his potential. He has just got limited to a containing bowler and when it was proper time for him to contain in the last over against Saffers then too he was not utilized. No offense to Bhajji but even Ashwin would have taken at least double the wickets than Bhajji if he had been given a chance. Bhajji was one the top spinners in this world cup but he was underperformed by a huge margin. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/icc_cricket_worldcup2011/engine/records/bowling/most_wickets_career.html?id=4857;type=tournament I really hope Bhajji pulls up his socks soon. His batting has not been that great either than he can be carried as an allrounder. He hardly could hit one proper shot during the whole word cup. No offense but we might benefit more by trying out our next generation of spinners like Ashwin and Ojha instead of continuing with Bhajji incase his bowling form keeps on dipping more and more as it has been doing for a lot of years. We were never great in fast bowling but we were always strong on quality spinners since time unknown but this is first time in our history that we are weak both in pace and spin. And it is not as if we do not have quality backups in spin department. All our backup spinners like Ashwin, Ojha and Mishra have performed quite well especially Ashwin and Ojha whenever given a chance but we never gave them their much needed chances. Even during the world cup when we should have selected someone like Ojha who has performed very well in the last few years whenever given chances, we instead went for Chawla in what it seemed like "aasmaan se tapka, khazoor me latka". We are gradually destroying our spin too and in case we do not think wisely soon then we might repent soon as future domestic cricketers would not take up spin too due to the lack of opportunities. Bhajji needs to pull up his socks for the rest of the world cup. He is also about to exit the best economy list too and is very near the bottom now. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/icc_cricket_worldcup2011/engine/records/bowling/best_career_economy_rate.html?id=4857;type=tournament

Really disapointed by Harbhajan's performance so far but he did get wickets against SA. Hopefully he can just bowl without fear and not worry about conceding boundaries. Looks like we'll be playing Australia so he usually saves his best for them.

That's only in Tests - in ODIs he averages almost 45 against them (ER 4.62).
