Australian Skipper Ricky Ponting has Protested Cricket’s Living Legend Sachin Tendulkar’s Decision to walk back to the pavilion despite on field umpire ruling him not out in India v West Indies clash at Chennai. While speaking with Press this afternoon after a fierce training session of Ozie’s Ponting said “How can he do it? I mean it’s completely ridiculous on Sachin’s part to walk away like this when umpire ruled him not-out. Its utter disrespect to umpire’s decision and his abilities. But this ‘Gentlemen-like’ attitude of sachin not just dampened our interest but it also gave wrong impression to our young blokes like smith who are still learning the Ozie’s way!! “It was a concern and alarming situation for me and Cricket Australia when Smithy clapped and praised Sachin’s Act to walk off. I immediately took my bat and hurled it at that Television.†“Even I faced similar situation during Pakistan game. But I respected umpire’s decision to declare me not out. I am not sort of guy who wanted to stay there and make runs for my own record’s. I have played selfless cricket through out years and no one should question my integrity. Apart from that we have put forward a demand to ICC to take away international status of that game and to give directives to broadcasters to erase the video and also issue warnings to Press to not publish about the incident. As of now we have made sure the issue is not talked much in Australian press and no ex-player speaks about it. “We are also planning to demand to ICC that a player cannot walk-off on his own, it should be treated as disrespect and should be finned 50% of his match fees. “During Quarter Finals we all will be wearing a black arm band to Protest this act of Sachin. so much of jokes are going about this incident. But i very much doubt the whole incident might have got this much attention if someone else other than Tendulkar had walked.

Well Ponting has reputation that he has kept..but honestly he is consistent with waiting for umpire's decision. You cannot blame him for that. As for Sachin he believes in integrity which has driven him for more than 22 yrs.I guess both are right at their end. For game of cricket it obviously is good if we have more walkers but with all competition around it is unlikely you will see Sachins or Gilchrists...more likely it will be Pontings or Mahelas in future!
