True Cric Lover Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 After 2007 World Cup early exists, both teams have done well by reaching to Semis. Both teams were able to thrash the World Champion. I think it’s going to be good 2nd Semi Final. Being a Pakistani Fan I would want my team to win against India and then win the World Cup and what I liked in current Pakistan team is their fighting spirit. No one was hoping for them to go that far and beat two good teams like SL and Aus. If India is strong in batting then Pakistan is strong in bowling and also Pakistanis doing ok in fielding in this World Cup (Except Kamran Akmal) and it won’t be easy to beat Pakistan as they have some real match winners like Ajmal, Razzaq, Akhtar and Umar Gul. All the best to both the teams and I hope one Asian team wins the world Cup.
Passion Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I hope an asian team minus india, srilanka win the worldcup. :yay:

Baad Indian Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Pakistan were just lucky enough to make it all through to this stage , they can still win this world cup but I think had there been a similar world cup format as 2003 this Pak team would have failed to reach the semi finals .
Pak_Fan_4_Eva Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 ^Lucky enough by playing excellent cricket? I knew this thread was by a sensible and diplomatic person. Not surprised to find a Pakistani at its end:two_thumbs_up:

I have heared this term about Pak so many times by Indians in last few days... Can any one please explain HOW PAKISTAN WAS LUCKY TO REACH INTO SEMIS? I seriously have no idea because what info I have, Pakistan was #1 in its group winning 5/6 games and beating SL in SL also first team to beat AUS in WC after 12 years, I am not able to find this LUCK factor, please anyone?
Misu243 Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Lets put it this way..If the same Indian team that played Australia shows up against Pakistan, and I don't mean composition, then Pakistan will have to play out of their skin..play their hearts out if they want to go to the final.
Schickelgruber Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Good job by both teams to be honest. What I like about this World Cup is that both Ind and Pak have worked hard to reach the SF and both have played crap at times and great at other times. Both teams are par at the moment which then makes for a scrumptious SF.

How were they lucky? They won against SL (a host nation), Oz and were deserving toppers of their group. In addition, I would always prefer a team like Oz in a KO than a team like WI. You never know which side of the bed the windies will wake up on that day. Lets give credit where it is due. Pakistan deserves to be in the SF.

They have played 20 ODIs and won 0.
