It is just common to look at your old man and imagine when he was 30 and you look so immature So is 30 so DAMN old, heck I turned to the computer/internet gizmo etc when I was only (understatement) 26! A man is as old as he feels ( does this statement still hold any importance )? With the fast growing net, we see more and more people blogging, chatting, flirting etc etc..the 30s father figure with 1 or kid is still there, but he has turn younger; bolder - don't you think so So what happens to the already 20s crowd?, they go younger or we bound by Legal Age ( 19 in Canada - coz it makes sense and the B.S 21 in US of A ) in thoughts as well Apologize if it doesn't make sense, I am just depressed to see my 1st grey hair today

Thirties is when you seriously get to work in life. Twenties were just prospecting. OK, you can't have rosy cheeks and jet black hair any more, but you can remain fit and strong if you respect your body, as most of us do. Tell you what though, get hitched, have a kiddo and that depression will fly out of the window. I always thought it was a fancy term for expressing boredom for people who really aren't filling every minute of their day with work, fun and duty, as they should. Grey hair? Who gives a fack!! }:)

A slim jawline is one to die for, and therefore it's worth investing in 30 or so miles of running, or around 6 miles of swimming per week that it takes to keep it that way. Never let your face get fat!

Not grey hair but am actually sick of listening to people saying you don't even look 30 :headache: However good you may be at work but among the oldies (am talking about here 40s and 50s) in a professional setup you don't have a chance if you look young. I've spoken to so many clients and colleagues overseas over the years. I have commanded instant respect with most over the phone. When I visited them though after they had a look at me I felt they took me a little easy. I think that is to do with age and mature look lacking in me as yet. I'm not way too young but am about 32 right now. It's pretty hard for people to digest in a professional outfit a 32 year old is way better than the 40s and 50s and also at the same time shares similar stature at work. I've even had someone comment to me I've been lucky to get where I am at my age. I know him pretty well and I know he was speaking of his experience. He's still struggling to get where I am despite his 20 odd years of work experience. As for cricket, I’m heavily respected in my team to the state where they have asked me how to get over bad form. I’m the oldest in the team but again not looking old enough and also giving full commitment when chasing the ball has reduced my seniority claim. I get shafted from cover point to cover point every over. I wish at times I looked old enough and wasn’t agile enough to out run the young ones, I would be resting all the time in the slips. I quite like the 30s, it brings a lot of maturity and this is when you really make a mark in career. None will take you seriously when you are in 20s and when you are in 40s you are considered a bit too aged. I like the 30s, it’s just perfect. I don’t have grey hair (haven’t spent time enough in front of the mirror to check if I have any) but have started to see grey hair show up in stubble. I don’t like the few grey ones in stubble. Either they should all go grey or should stay black. I quite liked my stubble look in my 20s. I could go shaveless for days but not anymore. :hmph:

Depression will be history.

Fascinating how a change of hair-colour(often for a mere strand) makes such a huge impact on the pscyche is it not? Have I compromised with my age? No. I didnt need to. See Rajeev me, you, Dhondy, Ravi and others would perhaps fall in the age bracket 27-37(give or take a few years). This age-bracket(or generation) is the generation that has perhaps seen more than most other age brackets. We were there when there was ONLY 1 TV channel in India, we are there when there are 500 channels now. We were there when there were no TV in people's houses(gosh is that even a possibility now) and we are there when people carry a laptop to their toilet? We were there when the talk of computer started and we are there when Indian computer professional have become as good as anyone else. We are a strange generation Rajeev and in our own way we have impacted this World. As for example the marriage age in our generation is closer to late 20's and 30's today, a good solid half a dozen year(or more) than before. On a personal level, I am as fit as I was in my 20's(maybe even more). I am fully capable of taking care of myself - from a career perspective, as well as taking care of my apartment, food etc etc. I know what I want in life, in my girls and on my menu. I do not have to pose what I am not, nor try to impress anyone. Comfortable in my skin and enjoying life...on my own terms. Now why would I compromise that? xxx

Yes, we are a strange generation- seen so many developments within a relatively small space of time, and primed for yet more. Growing up was fun, in an era when temptations of the worldwide web did not hinder studies. I feel for kids like Parth, who must find it enormously difficult to focus on their books, without stealing a look at the wide open highways available at the click of a button. Further, I remember the advent of the B&W television in our homes, and the stir it created. Today, people are unhappy if they don't have a 50" flat screen.

Those were the days of B/W Telly and there was this weird blue screen on top of the TV. The TVs those days also used to have a collapsible door :yernuts: There was more wood than plastic in the TVs those days. I remember our house used to host a lot of people on a daily basis and it always irked me I had to struggle to watch a cricket game at my own home thanks to the rearing heads in front of me. Those days are golden still

With a good solid knob for changing channels, no remote back then of course! Heck there was only 1 channel anyway!! Even towards the late 80's and early 90's when cable arrived in India we had the same old TV with that knob, my Dad refused to buy a remote as a marketing ploy, and I would be left getting off my chair and changing the knob to change the channels..in short I was family remote! Plus there was also that voltage stabilizer on top of the tv that we seem to change every 30 minutes as voltage used to fluctuate badly. Ravi, that collapsile door was called "shutter", it was an Indian invention to make sure the TV didnt get too much dust :lmao: :lmao: I can still recall those newsreaders - JV Raman, Ghazala Amin, Salma Sultan, Minu, Usha Alberquerue...good times. One movie a week(on Sunday) which was updated to 2 movies a week(sunday and Thrusday) and often there would be a late night movie, mostly classic Western movie with some racy subjects. Which was how I watched many a XX rated movie at home, chup chup ke.. everyone would be asleep as I would tiptoe to the living room, close the door and have a gala time... :xmas: priceless memories..now Rajeev why would you want to compromise on that?
