In 96, India played so poorly at Edgbaston against an attack of Irani, Mullally etc. Cork was good since he was coming off a hattrick against WI in 1995 and in great form. Chris Lewis was a pretty good bowler as well. Have a look at this innings and don't miss the score on right. That was a challenge for India. Usually our batsmen have trouble inthe first test after which they adapt to conditions well. I don't recall us being under too much duress in english conditions. Whereas in SA and australia, we have been under tremendous duress at times and look totally lost. That's the experience from indian cricket. Experience for english batsmen will differ. brought up under different conditions. Difficult conditions will affect the home team as well! adapting to english conditions is a process but we have done it going by recent history since the disaster of 1974.

Talking about India's futrue batting Kohli looks to bee a good prospect. The little I saw of Pujara in SA, I wasn't impressed but he has scored alot of runs so should be in the team after Dravid.
Sachin=GOD Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Bowling is a problem but IMO it will be the batting that will turn out to be the bigger problem once Goddy, Dravid, Laxman retire. In bowling I think we will now have to go for horses for courses and have people like RP Sigh, Irfan etc for overseas tours because they're best suited for those only. I also feel Sreesanth is more suited for Tests than ODIs and he should concentrate more on the longer version of the game.
