Never rated him as anything like a complete player but look at the way he has come on the big stage , he has given the best performance by a distance by any single player in the tournament . Afridi's performance with the ball reminds me of performance of Sachin in 96 and 2003 where he was the only one who performed consistently right through out the tournament and yet ended on the losing side . Imagine when many of the greats buckle under the pressure of captaincy , Afridi has managed the opposite , he has become even more stronger with added responsibility . Afridi is a True champion and lets give him the credit OTT
ganeshran Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 I never thought I'd say this, but Afridi has matured tremendously as a captain and a bowler in this world cup (still bats brainlessly though). His temperament looked more and more like that of a leader in the latter stages of the tournament. He stopped criticizing the players in public, didnt make OTT statements. His bowling was very good too.
