Did the lack of Afridi's characteristic jaahil behavior have anything to do with IPL coming up ? Perhaps he now realizes ke baap kaun hai , toh abhi acchha ban ne mein hi fayada hai... warna IPL ko contract phir se chhin sakta hai.

this is a good point u bring up. all u to do is look at my avatar to know this guy's true 'aukaat'. anyways, he was also being goody goody because he knows how desperate the pakis were to win this and he doesnt want to be lynched when he gets home

` I think he got advice from Imran. He has been in touch with him. In a big world cup match coolness is very vital. Their fielders crumbled under pressure much like their batsmen.

 Conspiracy theories are a fool's way out of something they can't accept. If one takes stuff at face value, life will be much simpler Vaise Sachin sab ka idol hai, kuch to seekho usse (i.e. humility and decency) :icflove:

I think he has matured with age. His words did seem genuine though and of course did no harm to his IPL chances.

you guys aare unfortunately blinded by hatred........
Right because that's such a "hateful" insinuation that he may actually be sucking up to people who could potentially employ him. Nothing wrong on Afretardi's part, IMO. Man's gotta eat....whether it's Lahori chargha or cricket balls, and both cost money. In addition, last time I checked, the term "...Hinduon ki zehniyat..." didn't exactly come with a side of honey and pistachios. So, spare us the pontificating and if you're a Pakistani, wash your own behind first. The reason you're a failed state IS because of your anti-Hindu/anti-India policies.

Well...one could see it on the TV. The guy had kept a weeping face right from the point when pakistan were 7 down. Matches with india are too intense moments for pakistanis to bring the acting talent out. I will have to disagree.

It's not as much as him acting, but being nice...maybe a little overtly so. I already said there's nothing really wrong with it IF he wants to suck up to the IPL owners, IF Pak players are considered for the auction.

Somehow I get a feeling that we will see some Pakistani players in this IPL. Expect Manmohan SIngh or some central minister to say pick pakistani players if you want to and then BCCI will happily tweak the rules to include Pak players in the teams. All part of the goodwill gesture of the cricket diplomacy.

Lets leave the Poor Guy alone and appreciate him for his on the field behaviour . Never rated him as anything like a complete player but look at the way he has come on the big stage , he has given the best performance by a distance by any single player in the tournament . Afridi's performance with the ball reminds me of performance of Sachin in 96 and 2003 where he was the only one who performed consistently right through out the tournament and yet ended on the losing side . Imagine when many of the greats buckle under the pressure of captaincy , Afridi has managed the opposite , he has become even more stronger with added responsibility . Afridi is a True champion and lets give him the credit
