Riaz deserved the MOTM. The delivery to Yuvi was a swinging Jaffa. Hard luck mate. But being denied a MOTM is in no way a reason to feel let down. Just look around, it happens all the time. You should be happy that you have un-earthed one more quality pace bowler.

5fer by styen and 111 by sachin were equally good performances but yesterday they were not even close.Sehwags 38(25) was the best Indian performance in the context.

He was the one who set up that score for India.He negated our best bowler and threw us off our game and it took us 20 overs to recover and by that time you were 120/1.

While it is true that Sehwag shredding your strike bowler into pieces was a great start for India, when he was dismissed India were on 49, not 149. It was Sachin who took the score to 185 without any of the other batsmen playing big innings. Yes he was dropped four times but that's your team's problem - the scoreboard doesn't care whether the batsman played a chanceless innings or a lucky one. After that Raina's contribution was critical. On your point that it took twenty overs to recover - this is simply false. In the 11th over of the innings, Ajmal nearly got Sachin twice in two balls. India had a couple of good overs after Veeru was dismissed but the run rate was falling after that. All that said, Riaz was still a little unlucky to miss out but it is nowhere as clear cut as you are trying to claim.

Tendulkar got the MOM for scoring 85 where the 2nd highest score was 56 and was a testing track to score the runs on.. most matches 5 fer would have been a MOM over a 85 even in a losing cause

M-o-M should be given to a player who plays the best in the game regardless if his team ends up winning or losing. Isn't that the whole point of "Man of the Match"? If it has to be from the winning team then just call it "Man of the Match from the Winning Team" and get done with it. This is just from a general pov. On the topic: Sachin's inning had lots of flaws while Wahab's bowling was flawless and nothing less than brilliant. He was my Man of the Match.

For once, I agree with the OP. Wahab Riaz bowled beautifully and let's face it, even Goddy himself seemed embarrassed with his innings. It was far from his best even if it did get us to that score. In that context, I'd say Raina's knock turned out to be the real deal breaker for us, apart from Pakistan's dropped catches.

Sachin was MOM mainly because he scored a 85 when the next best score in the game from batsman who were were actually playing to win the game was 43. The 2nd highest score from Indian was 38. Basically Sachin scored those runs that helped India to 260 which was an easily dependable score on this pitch. Although Riza got 5 wickets they were spread out that it didn't really stop India. If he had got Sachin right after he got yuvi, that would have changed the game. But in the end India stuttered along to reach a very good score. I feel the impact of his spell was lost because his overs were spread out by afridi.
