Utalk Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Wahab Riaz was robbed of a richly deserved MOTM award yesterday.Looking at the game situation, powerful Indian line up bloke picked Sehwag,Kohli,Yuvraj and Dhoni.A five wicket haul to go with that. Sachin 85(115) was in no way better performance then wahab esp after all those drops. Best performance of the day belonged to Wahab by a country mile http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/63828.html MOTM does not=biggest match winning contribution. This world cup Ryan Ten Doeschate won MOTM in losing cause against Eng. http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc_cricket_worldcup2011/engine/match/433562.html Colin Obuyo was MOTM in losing cause against Aus. http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc_cricket_worldcup2011/engine/match/433588.html Whoever decided to give it to Sachin got it completely wrong in my opinion.

Patriot_Nikhil Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Yes, he was robbed... By his own fielders... :winky:
ganeshran Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 If Pakistan had won, he would have got it. Sachin has played umpteen masterclass innings only to be denied the man of the match because he finished on the losing side.
satyam1729 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Sachin should have been MOM against SA. But Steyn got because SA won.
b555 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 kaha se aa jaathe hain ye log? can grow in anywhere like a banyan tree

Dude.. Don't go overboard. Wahab could have been a decent choice for MOTM but it's not daylight robbery kind of thing as you seem to be suggesting. No body scored anywhere close to Sachin' 85. Misbah was only other half century in the match and you know how good that was.

I've been noting your posts and you act like you are the most level-headed one around. A simple post indicating that Riaz should've been the MoM would've sufficed, instead you launch these tirades of how people should hang their heads in shame, and bringing up the few instances where the losing team won the MoM award. You lost the Big Kahuna, i.e., game and you're bawling about pittance. Keep that in perspective and grow up!
satyam1729 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 ganeshran I gave two examples from this world cup where MOTM was given to a player from the losing side. And in SA game Sachin was robbed . So ?
cowboysfan Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 He was the best player on the field,i was sort of surprised Sachin got the award considering his innings.
Clarke Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 There goes the match winner logic down the drain. Until yesterday, it was the holy grail because of which Inzibai was a better overall cricketer than Tendulkar & Ponting was the adopted son.

Sachin has played umpteen masterclass innings only to be denied the man of the match because he finished on the losing side.[/quote'] I agree with this. There is no doubt that Wahab bowled his best best spell of bowling yesterday. But Sachin's knock aided by Rain's brilliance at the end helped get India to a score of 260 that won the match.
Utalk Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 Dude.. Don't go overboard. Wahab could have been a decent choice for MOTM but it's not daylight robbery kind of thing as you seem to be making out to be. No body scored anywhere close to Sachin' 85. Misbah was only other half century in the match and you know how good that was. One else got more then two wickets and four out of five were proper batsmen.None of them were fluky caught on the boundary wickets. That was the best bowling performance of this world cup.
Homerus_Unus Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Cant deny facts can we? What are the facts, mate? The fact is that Sachin won the MoM. The fact that you (and several other Pak fans and a select few Indian fans) wanted Riaz to win, is a matter of opinion. Go weep in your pillow.
vvvslaxman Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Tendulkar cleverly played in such a way that your fielders would miss the catch :--D . For that reason he was man of the match.

I am not insulting no one simply pointing out a blunder.Yes I did go overboard in the OP hence its edited.
