Confirmed in the FTP. Pakistan is desperate to play so it's upto the Indian govt/BCCI to decide. Should go through as long as we don't have any incidents before that.

Till September, each test and ODI's dates are known. After that since it is organised by BCCI hence it has to be unknown-- no surprises! But, at least we know about the numbers. Thanks CT. Why is England coming just for ODIs? Has it split future tour in two parts? And hasn't ECB given its dates on its sites? Don't think Pak tour will go ahead though!

You never know with the BCCI. They might change the 5 ODIs to 2 tests and 3 ODIs. I hate 2 test series but it would be better than no tests. The dates also haven't been decided.

Eng tour of India for ODIs are useless.....& instead should be used to give the players a break. Generally those 5 ODIs & 1T20 will spread upto 2 weeks. So worthless. Break wil be much better. Also 5 ODI will WI is worthless. Should be 3 IMO. Ind tour of Aus have now a triseries with Aus & SL. Initial reports confirming that each team plays against each other 4 times...for a minimum of 8 ODIs..plus the finals. What I will like to see is BCCI penciling in the exact dates & venues for the domoestic tours now only. They already knows the teams & no of matches..so why wait for the last minute to announce the exact dates & venues. Plus..please BCCI....schedule the Test to start on Wed/Thus & not on Monday for much better fan attendance in the ground..not to mention hold the games in ground..where public like Test matches...& not at grounds like Mohali/Nagpur where the fans dont turn up at all.

I've been saying this for ages. The BCCI needs to have a set number of traditional test venues. Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore should be the top 4. You're sure to get good crowds. Delhi can be one of the other venues. The problem is that Manohar is from Nagpur, Bindra is from Mohali etc. Rubbish. No tests should be held at Nagpur, A'bad, Mohali, H'bad etc. Have all your ODIs at these grounds since the test centres would get regular tests and also have IPL matches.

Trouble brewing between Indian board and players Some of the exhausted members want to skip Tests against Windies By K.R. Nayar, Chief Cricket Writer Dubai: Senior players of Team India that won the World Cup have requested for a break but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is not giving in to their wishes. The situation is now heading towards a clash between the board and players. Following the tiring World Cup and the subsequent Indian Premier League (IPL), Team India players could not take a break to savour their victory with their families and had requested the board not to consider them for the Test series against West Indies but only for the One-dayers. Some of the players including captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been playing non-stop cricket for the last ten months, but BCCI feels that it would be wrong for a few senior players to be given the privilege to pick and choose their series and matches. Ensure they do not lose The reason behind BCCI's decision to have all the top players in the team is to ensure that they do not lose either the Test and One-dayers series and go slipping down in the ICC world ranking. India's West Indies tour will commence with a Twenty20 match in Trinidad on June 4 and it will be followed by five One-dayers from June 6 to 16. The three Tests will be held from June 20 to July 10. The senior players had asked not to be considered for the Tests from June 20 so they can get a break of one month before India's tour to England commencing from July 21 with the first Test at Lord's. England tour hectic The England tour is also hectic with four Test matches, four One-dayers and a Twenty20 match. Dhoni spearheaded the request. He had even remarked during the World Cup that the fatigue factor is showing on the players. Three days after winning the World Cup, he candidly said: "The schedule does affect cricketers. After IPL, there is the West Indies series. From West Indies, we go to England. If Chennai Super Kings win the IPL final, we play the Champions League. It's a very busy schedule. Because of the amount of cricket that we play, it does affect the performances. Physical aspects are still manageable, but you might feel mentally tired and emotionally drained." Sehwag out Virender Sehwag will miss the West Indies tour as he is scheduled to undergo a shoulder operation in England. He will also be out of the England tour. The senior players' insistence of getting a break now is because even after the West Indies and England tour, they may not get a break. http://gulfnews.com/sport/cricket/trouble-brewing-between-indian-board-and-players-1.799654

That is a bit weird on the face of it. But wanting a rest before to Eng tour makes sense, they see that as the sterner test and a good break before that will help. Ideally theyd have no ODIs in WI, so that tour will end early and play a warm up match there prior to test series. A 3 tests and 3 ODI tour of Eng and no Eng tour of India later in the year

I guess that is their thinking...but skipping Test series is a slippery slope. Also, we shouldn't take WI too lightly - they are a shambles but have somehow managed to produce some reasonably competitive Test performances over the last 3 years, with their ODI performances being the really dreadful part of their game. A full strength Indian side would still beat them, but a few seniors rested and...Vijay and Raina types against Kemar Roach? :((

Conflicting reports. This is more like what I expected.

Senior players in the Indian cricket team are keen to play the Test series on next month's tour of the West Indies, but would like to skip the one-day international series. India will launch their Caribbean campaign with a T20 International in Trinidad on June 4 and follow it up with five one-dayers (June 6-16) and three Tests (June 20-July 10). The series has no warm-up games. The seniors, particularly those in the ODI scheme of things, want a break after the completion of the Indian Premier League on May 28. The general view is that the one-day players would be exhausted after playing back-to-back in the 43-day World Cup and the 51-day IPL with just a week's gap in between. http://sports.ndtv.com/cricket/news/item/172585-seniors-want-to-play-only-tests-in-caribbean?pfrom=home-Cricket

Yeah...I also read the seniors want break from WI ODI leg...& as our BCCI Shukla have told to media all the time...when asked abt the fatigue factor "if a player feels that he needs rest..he just needs to ask for it". There u stupid CHUTIYYA....seniors have asked for break. Give them one. BCCI needs to make sure that they dont lose their seniors to injuries for important Eng & Aus test series..but I get this feeling that we will play those series with a lot of players injured.

Tracks are pretty flat there so batting even against their pacemen will should not scare our batsmen too much. WI will be pretty annoyed if we send a 2nd team. Tests should always be priority ideally, but as far as theyre concerned its rest, whatever means they get it by..! Send a 17 man squad and rest players for test three after were 2-0 up :D
