Mr_Rat Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I am a very fit guy for my age. Actually fit for any age :--D I eat very healthy but maybe 6 times or so in the year I temporarily lose control. For example today I bought a 350gm jar of peanut butter (I never buy such fatty processed stuff normally). As soon as I got home I felt guilty and chucked the whole jar in the bin. Well at night I took the jar out of the bin and ate it all with 12 slices of bread :punter::hysterical: So is similar behaviour less than 10 times in a year normal or do I need to see a psychologist? :--D Keep in mind I am very fit. Not skinny starved and definitely not fat. In the past I have bought ice cream and washed it down the sink too :giggle: Could you psycho analyse me?
Mr_Rat Posted April 6, 2011 Author Posted April 6, 2011 Orthorexia? Yeah I am obsessed with eating healthy food and if I eat something unhealthy I feel like shyte mentally. Healthy food makes me feel happy and clean. Unhealthy food makes me feel bad and I can never enjoy it. Orthorexia according to this link does not fully match with how I eat. I eat mixture of green vegetables, fruits and natural unsalted nuts daily. I eat a very balanced diet. I exercise regularly too and don't take one type of food only like the guy in the link.
Mr_Rat Posted April 6, 2011 Author Posted April 6, 2011 Maybe I should get in touch with Mota Chawla?
DomainK Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Binging is one of my favorite timepass. Disorder? Nah, just some entertainment. But yeah, once I decide not to eat something, I can exercise control.
vipin Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Happens to all of us. Consider yourself lucky that it happens to you only once a month. To many people it happens almost daily inspite of their own knowledge and determination to eat healthy. And hence the Chawla effect !
akshayxyz Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 I also do similar stuff - strict regime followed by couple of weeks of binging, alcohol, ice creams, sweets and everything. But throwing in the bin to pick it out later in the night - is something I new to me. Were you obese in your younger years and worked hard to get to current state? As long as you are able to keep yourself healthy - enjoy every aspect of your life.
akshayxyz Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 I always say this - at the end of the day, if you are sleeping normally and have good stamina/fitness - everything you are doing is perfectly fine.
Mr_Rat Posted April 9, 2011 Author Posted April 9, 2011 Try Almond butter I like peanut butter though Anyway I am done for this month
Mr_Rat Posted April 9, 2011 Author Posted April 9, 2011 But throwing in the bin to pick it out later in the night - is something I new to me. You should try it. Feels like winning the lottery :haha: Just to be clear the peanut butter was inside the closed jar so it was not dirty in anyway. If I am in a similar situation again I will break the jar with a hammer and then throw it in the bin so it gets all dirty :hysterical: Were you obese in your younger years and worked hard to get to current state? As long as you are able to keep yourself healthy - enjoy every aspect of your life. No I was never fat. I have always been very active and sporty. Everyone in my family is Indian fat though :haha: They eat all kind of stuff and then wonder why they are chubby. I swore at a young age that I would maintain my six pack until my dying day.
