satyam1729 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I'm very glad the next World Cup won't be in India. You go to the hotel lobby and people say, 'You have to win for India'. There's so much intensity, it's almost as if they're saying, 'Win or I'll shoot you in the head'." But he insists that winning the World Cup was the best thing to ever happen to him, and the high is yet to fade. "Every morning, for the next four years, I'm going to wake up and say, 'I belong to a team that is the world champion'. So many great players have outstanding careers but never win a World Cup. This team has, and no one can ever take that away from us." http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2011-04-10/interviews/29403114_1_yuvraj-singh-powerplays-indian-team I know it is a masala headline from TOIlet.
vvvslaxman Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Now the weight is off.. Yuvi :) You can relax. I remember Dhoni telling the same. Players were more anxious not eating the food even if it is infront of them. I can empathize. But not all fans lack sportsmanship. You will find extremes in all sports. It is part of the sports.
akshayxyz Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Relax UV... Its great that you were MoS in WC...but at least learn something from Sachin.. Stop responding/reacting to people/media.. just do what you are best at.. Everything else will fall in place. But, yes I keep forgetting there can be only one Sachin.
vvvslaxman Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 The one report that Yuvraj really empathized with, though, was the one about the lack of sportsmanship in the Indian cricket fan. "That's bang on," he asserted. - How the news has been convoluted lol.. It is on Toilet paper as well What is that report? Man you fu**king media I am not going to trust you morons.. If Yuvi said that.. so be it.. Atleast he did something to win the cup for us. What the eff you reporters did.
Stuge Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 WTH.. UV .. we support you whether you guys win or lose .Please don't say all the Indian fans are like this :(
vvvslaxman Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 WTH.. UV .. we support you whether you guys win or lose .Please don't say all the Indian fans are like this :( Don't take it seriously.. THey just put words into his mouth if there is.. Time for us to show :finger: to the media.
akshayxyz Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Don't take it seriously.. THey just put words into his mouth if there is.. Time for us to show :finger: to the media. true this. I am sick of the headlines TOI like newspapers use on hourly basis.
achilles Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 This headline is going to come back and bite us someday, when we play the Aussies, Saffers, Poms et al.
jonas10 Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Guys...Yuvi is spot on. Not in football, hockey baseball or any other sport does a players house get burned down or security guards need to protect it if they lose except in cricket outside of the subcontinent. Yuvi is right sub continent fans in general need to calm down and realize its a sport.
yoda Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 There is a difference between support and criticism. When the team under performs, there will be criticism, some more extreme than the others. Support we will always. Who else are we going to support? Pakistan? But yea, someone telling a guy you have to win it for India is a bit OTT. These guys already are under a lot of pressure, no need to add more.
cameron_black Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 well said yuvraj.indian fans should know better.
vijay810 Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Kuch galat bhee nahee bol UV. My own friends sometime throw logic out of window and curse one off bad performance. Many of them stop watching a match if things go little against what they desire. True fan supports no matter what
