I'm following IPL 2011 and till today ive been happy to see some changes, that i have never seen in the past versions of IPL. The Indian Discards are coming back to strength and with some Vengeance. 1) Ishant Sharma : Wow!!! this guy who had become a 130-133 kmph bowler , is outstanding this season. ive not missed his matches and have never seen a match where he has not crossed 145kmph. He is back with a Bang. Good to see he has put on some Shoulder Strength. 2)Ravindra Jadeja : Taking everyone by surprise, the guy has become the Six hitting Machine, hits the spinners and pace bowlers now. Not a tuc tuc batsman we saw in World Cup 2009. He has also put some muscle as Sunil Gavaskar had mentioned. 3) R. P Singh : This is a surprise to me. This guy was a 127-131 kmph bowler for 2009-2010 seasons. This season he crossed 140 couple of times, have not seen batsman hit him for 6's so frequently in 2011 as they were doing in 2009-2010 seasons. So definately improvement here. 4) Rohit Sharma : Wow!! Lost weight, looks classy and showing consistency. Good Going Rohit. He can hit the medium pacers and spinners for 6's. 5)Irfan Pathan: he is the only one i can say has not improved since the last seasons, same old story with the pace and swing. maybe he improves as he claims to be, havent seen him bat though. 6)Parthiv Patel: good going patel, looks a more composed, and correct batsman, can take out the big shots as well. 7) Vinay Kumar: Seems to be improving with every outing, doesnt mind experimenting. If you guys have any other inclusions lets discuss..

8) Laxmipati Balaji : He seems to have found his swing, the ball which got Watson was an absolute peach of a delivery. Looking good for more. 9) Amit Mishra: He has always looked good in IPL's somehow not so in International matches. But again proving his worth this season too.

10) Robin Uthappa: Performing quite well with the 10-20 odd deliveries he gets to face. Shot selection is an issue, but I think he should make a comeback in the team. We need a massive striker of the cricket ball coz Raina can't place bounce and Dhoni doesn't play shots. 11) Pragyan Ojha: This man would be wondering what wrong he did to be superceded by Ashwin. Has been decent this year, but I think he should atleast be in the 15 man squad for ODIs and Tests.

I noticed he has put on some weight. Doesnt look that fit to me. Was a nice bowler though. Hasnt done much this season.

Ishant, RPS, Mishra and Rohit have been the biggest gainers so far. All 4 could well be in the team for WI. Especially Ishant's and Mishra's bowling form is great news for the test team. Parthiv Patel looks to have sealed the 2nd keeper's spot (DK's awful form has also meant that there's no competition).

Great post. Yes, India's future is looking very bright. Of course these players must be handled carefully because they're definitely showing promise. I'm expecting many of them to make the cut for the West Indies tour as many of our senior players are going to be resting. Looking forward to see them in national colors.
