Sachin=GOD Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 few points for the fans to ponder over: -> its easier for fast bowlers to bowl at chest level n above to shorter guys which is harder to score off most times. -> smaller guys have comparatively lesser power n smaller swing of the bat (can't hit the big shots as often). So they rely more on application, hitting the gaps n timing than bigger batsmen to score runs. This requires more skill n is a harder thing to do. -> so, many(not all) fans might be placing slightly higher value(in terms of skill n difficulty) to sachin's 30k runs than say if a Symonds had scored those runs. Is it not a possibility?? -> If yes, Would the fans be necessarily aware of this?? its nothing much, but at look this vid (which i just came across while killing time on youtube), jonty rhodes mentions sachin's size a couple of times.. your opinions are welcome.... If he had a personality like ponting or harbhajan, he would have been alot less liked -> he is one of the shortest cricketers. So probably fans attach greater skill n difficulty level to his batting, ofcourse fans maybe unaware of this, hence would never admit it. -> he has been playing for 21 yrs, many fans seeing him play from their childhood, so they feel more attached to him than any other player.. And if we don't count these factors and go by performances and contributions alone, then Kallis is the greatest cricketer of this generation by a mile. BTW you seem to have a knack for pulling theories out of the air and forming an opinion and then trying to twist your theories to suit them

I saw Tendulkar LIVE at the Australian grounds during the 2003 AND 2007 grounds and the standing ovation he got, Kallis can only dream of.
