BCCI is not a for-profit corporation. It's not like they take the profit and give it to the CEO. They use the extra money to spread the cricket in the country so that more munafs and dhonis can be identified and given opportunities.
Legally speaking the BCCI is actually not a not-for-profit corp. They lost their tax-exempt status a year ago.

Oh really? Then do explain how England and Australia have better cricket facilities and stadiums even though their profits and revenues are nothing compared to the BCCI.

India's base salary is less than that of Aussies, English,South African and even New Zealand players. IIRC, Indian senior players get around 150,000$ per year while the C grade players just get 50,000 $. Compare this to the 300,000$ or more for most English and Aussies players. 2 years ago, seniors gave up an increase in their base salary to get more junior players into the annual retainer. You have to respect that. Players like Sachin and Dhoni earn in million every year, but the munafs, sreesanths, ashwins, chawals do not. BCCI makes more than ACB and ECB , so why are their base salaries a pittance?

BCCI doubles prize money for WC winning players

MUMBAI: Amid speculation that Indian cricketers are unhappy with the prize money announced for their World Cup triumph, the BCCI on Wednesday increased it from Rs one crore to Rs two crore each. The BCCI, in its working committee meeting here, decided to increase the incentive to Rs two crore per player, which is still less than the Rs 5 crore each that the players had reportedly demanded. "The cash incentive to the members of the World Cup winning Indian team has been increased from Rs 1 crore per player to Rs 2 crore per player," BCCI secretary and president-elect N Srinivasan said in a media release. The decision comes after speculation that several top Indian cricketers made an informal demand to the cricket board to increase the reward money to Rs 5 crore instead of just 1 crore for winning the biggest cricketing event after 28 years. However, such reports were rejected by the BCCI with Srinivasan terming them as incorrect. India won the ICC World Cup beating Sri Lanka in the final on April 2 at the Wankhede Stadium. Immediately after the triumph, BCCI President Shashank Manohar had announced a reward of Rs one crore for each of the 15-member World Cup squad. He also announced that the support staff would be awarded Rs 50 lakh each.

Just shows how stingy BCCI are....... 1 or 2 crore means nothing to them......almost loose change..........but they still try and be cheap.

After every major series win , the team has been getting a bonus of 1 crore each for the last few years. For a WC win, they definitely deserved more than that. Didn't they get 2 crore each for even the t20 wc win?

This is why the sport can develop in other countries. You wouldnt pay Messi and Puyol the same compensation for a season of football. How on Earth can they pay Yuvraj and Sree the same amount after winning the world cup. Makes absolutely no sense.
