DomainK Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Anwar was a good batsman and nothing more than that. He has been over hyped by Pak fans because they don't have anyone better. He scored heavily against India and did nothing else noteworthy. Sehwag is light-years ahead of him in tests.

The man has test centuries in SA and Aus, as an opener in the 90's that was pretty good. Him and Sohail were the first opening duo to score an century stand for the 1st wicket after SA got back into cricket post apartheid. I am not sure Paks hype him to the level of Lara etc (they do that with Inzamam) but he was very good.

So just because he got a ODI century he is better.:giggle:

He scored a ton against New Zealand in the semis of the 1999wc. the error is in the selection of the venue. he has selected "away, home of the opposition" matches, not neutral venues. what he ought to do is select outside asia as the venue.
