Mamu Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 :woot::woot: Paisa Bharo Bhaiyya MUMBAI: Mumbai police have presented a bill of Rs 2.65 crore to the Mumbai Cricket Association for providing security during the three matches of World Cup, which were held at Wankhede stadium. A mammoth security arrangement had been made by the city police at Wankhede for March 13 and 18 ties - when New Zealand played against Canada and Sri Lanka respectively - and for the final between India and Sri Lanka on April 2. "We have charged the Mumbai Cricket Association ( MCA) Rs 2.65 crore for providing security during the three World Cup matches. It also includes the charges for security provided to the players during their stay in hotels," said deputy police commissioner (operations) Rajkumar Vhatkar. "It does not include the cost incurred by the traffic police and the central forces such as Central Industrial Security Force. Cost of VIP security arrangements is also excluded," Vhatkar said. The police had deployed special forces such as the Quick Response Team, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad and the Force One during the matches, in view of intelligence inputs about possible terrorist strike.
sarcastic Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 What is 2.65 crores for all the security costs when even one player earns so much money for playing a game!!!
rajmarie Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Good....MCA...pay the bill within the due date & dont go looking for politicians help here
Stuge Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Good job by security people .Time to pay them money now .
vijay810 Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Ya frankly I was 90% sure some rogue elements ( from you know where ) will surely try to launch some sort of attack .Who know what happened. Perhaps security was so good it discouraged them. Perhaps some unexpected teams reached SF and so the attack was postponed or abandoned with hope that they might win it. But ya 2.65 security bill is peanuts for the kind of event it was.

They wont attack when they know there is a chance to come across even a single Indian lawmen (not the kind to hide behind bushes or play dead).
