Mohanty was ok and dosent deserve to be there really, as CD says theres a 'wealth' of pace lack-of-talent to choose from- Ganesh, Johnson, Bhandari, Kumaran, Vaidya, Siddiqi, Yohannan, Salvi, Mhambrey :fear: definitely open with Devang Gandhi
The wikky must be Deep Drop Gupta...Dahiya was alright actually. He doesn't have the necessary credentials to be on this side. But Deep Drop is right up there with the Pandits and Patels. In pace, we also have Bharat Arun, Raju Kulkarni....man where are all the fans in ICF who have been watching cricket from the 80s and before? Bah! these kids think they know who are the "best" worst players...they haven't seen the kind of pace sensations we produced...Sanjeev Sharma anyone? Shivlal Yadav that great off spinner who sent it straighter than a Sachin straight drive? Vivek Razdan and Atul Wasson...they were our answers to Pak's Wasim and Waqar in Sachin's debut tour.

Any worst Indian XI squad without the strokeless wonder Kaif is not complete. How this useless player managed to play for India in so many games is beyond me.
How about because he has a test ton in WI (averaging 50+ in his last test series), scored a few very good gritty rescue knocks versus England and Australia, was a superb skipper of one of the best domestic teams in recent years, not to mention one of the fittest cricketers possibly ever to have played for India...

I remember watching when Kulkarni took a wicket with his first ball in test cricket vs SL, Sidhu-who was in his super fielding rebirth- took a decent running catch. Might have been the match when Lanka scored 900 vs us...Also when Kurasiya scored a 50 on his ODI debut (im think anyway...?) Bharadwaj too had a good start to his ODI career-was he a man of the series in his debut tourno?? Sadly none of these guys really had the quality... Chauhan, I think Im right in saying, never won a test match as part of the side...?

You mean never lost a test match? You're right if you did.

Also, didn't Kulkarni get Atapattu caught behind? Bharadwaj had that fantastic start to his career in Nairobi against SA and Kenya. I remember Joshi taking 5/6 in that series. Khurasiya made a pipty against SL in that tri-series (Pak and SL) in 1999. Smoked Chandana around I think. His feet movement before the ball was bowled was hilarious (a bit like Yardy but worse). Struggled against Pakistan though (esp Akhtar).

:cantstop: I remember the series against Pakistan. Pak had Imran and Wasim and our 3rd seamer was Kulkarni. Amarnath opened the bowling in that series as well.

You are referring to the 86-87 one at home which Pak won at Paradise City? I actually dont remember Amarnath opening the bowling then...by that time Prabhakar was already cemented in the team and we had Chetan Sharma around too Edit: Is it possibly the 86-87 series v/s SL..remember Raju Kulkarni being hailed as a super fast sensation then and saw him send one stump cartwheeling too
