India in England, Outsiders view.

For the 6th batsman's position a lot will depend on how Kohli, Pujara and Yuvi perform in West Indies. With indications of seniors wanting to rest, I think Pujara, Yuvi and Kohli will go to WI and then the performance there will determine who goes to ENngland. Same for RP Singh/Sreesanth etc.

OP...Is it your view or the Outsider view? Why didnt Outsider post his view himself?Did he got banned?

I agree and think it will be an exciting series . India however and notorious for slow starts in a test series and will be at their most vunerable in the first test . The Indian team selection will be very important for the English conditions which in general favours seam bowling to spin . I would like to see India even trying Praveen Kumar , who can swing the ball both ways (as this will cause a night mare for the England batsmen providing he is fit) opening the bowling with Zak. In the spin bowling department , obviously Harbajhan Singh and perhaps Misra or a young rising IPL star Iqbal Abdulla as a variation. Might even be worth while bringing along Umesh Yadav to add a bit of pace to the seam attack ,or Varon Aaron(that might be too experimental !) The batting selection also should include experience aswell as youth

man to man, the english have a much better bowling line-up it'll be on our experienced batting stalwarts to put up a fight to keep us alive in the series and as always, we'll be droppin catches in the cold

Exactly, even otherwise as well our senior batsmen namely Dravid and Laxman play tests only,so they are definately going to play.

I expect SRT and Dhoni to skip the ODIs, Zak has already requested for a break from the ODIs. Sehwag is of course out for 3-4 months so that just leaves Gambhir amongst the seniors. If Dhoni skips, he will probably want to play to further strengthen his captaincy credentials.

Rahane does seem a very interesting prospect. Makes proper cricketing shots not blind slogging. Lets see if he has the same technique on pitches with bounce and seam movement,

Yes ,most likely Sach and Dhoni will miss the ODI series and will be back for test series .I like that ,both of these players need rest especially Dhoni .With Zak also resting ,it will be nice to see which bowler shines in the ODI series. Gauti getting another oppurtunity to captain is also a good thing .

Players who need/deserve a break.... Dhoni SRT Zaheer Sehwag (out with injury) The others should be playing and I'm sure that they will. The top 3 mentioned above should be back for the tests. What would the ODI team look like? 1) Gambhir (captain) 2) Parthiv? (or style guru Vijay might open and have the keeper down at 7) 3) Kohli 4) Yuvraj 5) Raina 6) ? 7) Pathan 8) Ashwin 9) Harby 10)Munaf 11) PK I'm not a fan of Pathan but I'm more worried that Jaddu might be back. :(( Had enough of Vijay in ODIs as well. He has been an epic failure. I like Sharma's batting but he also has got a lot of chances.
