VENGSARKAR 139* in RANJI FINAL AGAINST HARYANA Still remember the image of Vengsarkar crying all the way back to the pavilioin after playing one of the best innings in Ranji final when Mumbai lost by 2 runs with Vengy stranded at 139. http://www.cricketarchive.com/Archive/Scorecards/54/54175.html TENDULKAR 233* in RANJI SEMI FINAL AGAINST TAMIL NADU This was heart breaking. Because TN was only a whisker away from gaining first innings lead. When the 9th wicket of Mumbai fell they required 14 more runs to gain first innings lead. Sachin made sure they gained a 5 run lead. TN tried to play far too aggressively in a mad fit and ended up getting bowled out for 171. http://www.cricketarchive.com/Archive/Scorecards/69/69565.html

YUSUF PATHAN 210* in W.ZONE vs S.ZONE Chasing a total of 500 in a first class match is very tough. YKP singlehandedly won the match for them with 108 & 210* in the match. Granted he was dropped 5 or 6 times . But he made them pay. In all the hoopla two brilliant centuries from Dinesh Karthik (183 & 150) went in vain. http://cricketarchive.com/Archive/Scorecards/259/259166.html [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wd0wuF7F-Fc]YouTube - Yusuf Pathan 210 (190 balls) against South Zone - 1[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9PuY1AkJPE]YouTube - Yusuf Pathan 210 (190 balls) against South Zone - 2[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6sLnKKm7eg&feature=related]YouTube - Yusuf Pathan 210 (190 balls) against South Zone - 3[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkqsCcKjNK4&feature=related]YouTube - Yusuf Pathan 210 (190 balls) against South Zone - 4[/ame]

Pathan's first innings knock was also brilliant considering the context. 2 selfish and match-losing hundreds from DK.
Bit harsh.. he made 150 in 162 balls :cantstop:

It doesn't matter. He scored a hundred and the team lost. Hence it was selfish and match-losing. The scoring rate and context is irrelevant. It is also so obvious that he just played for his 150 and then got out.

Nah' date=' it wasn't that special. Delhi was chasing just 200 odd.[/quote'] It is about winning the semi final and final for your team by leading from front and both time doing it while chasing in 4th innings, which isnt easy.

Remember following this match in newspapers. IIRC, Sachin had gained first innings lead for Mumbai through a six while a number 11 was on non-strikers end. Sachin had shown one of the rare glimpses of emotional agression after that by doing some fist pumping after he had hit that six. It's always good to have your international stars playing domestic cricket.
