Eh? I didn't write England off. Where are you getting this idea from? No one is born a world class player fyi. We have players that have done more than decently enough.

Saeed Ajmal, the Pakistan off-spinner, has revealed he's working on a secret delivery to surprise England's batsmen in this month's Test series. In a classic pre-series warning, Ajmal fell short of naming any specific batsmen, but said he had been studying footage of England's top players ahead of the first Test in Dubai on Jan 17. Ajmal also remained coy on revealing his newly developed ball, but said: "We are working on a special delivery, it's not very far, you will know it. We have special plans and are working on that [video footage]." Ajmal, who can turn it both ways, took 50 wickets in eight Tests last year and often surprises batsmen with a doosra, one that drifts away from a right-handed batsmen. "If I bowl flighted deliveries, I simply cannot bowl," the Pakistani said. "If I take 90 per cent of my wickets while bowling doosras and off breaks, there's no harm in it." Ajmal seems to have been experimenting with his delivery for most of last year. He said in August that he had a "top secret" delivery but refused to bowl it in the series against Zimbabwe, revealing that the ball was intended for England. "My aim is to become Pakistan's best bowler," the 34 year-old said at the time, "and also, to be the top bowler in the world. Only after that will I consider retiring from the game." Ajmal, who took 12 wickets in the controversial series in England during 2010, has history when it comes to playing in the UAE after snaring eight Sri Lanka wickets in a Test at the same venue - Dubai Sports City - in October 2010. Pakistan's training camp will end in Lahore on Saturday and the team is scheduled to fly out to Dubai on Monday. The first Test begins on Jan 17.

The series in 2005 had 3 very good players close to their best - Actor, Aloo and Yousuf. The current team has 1 world class player - Younis. England played like they didn't give a **** because they won the Ashes after a million years. The way they batted in the last innings of the 1st test was pathetic. Getting out to Kaneria ffs. :facepalm: Pakistan have done well recently but it's hard to judge where they are at because of the quality of the teams they've played. This series will give us a good indication. A win here and everyone will take notice. More than anything, I hope that we don't see flat wickets and drawn games in this series.

Misbah is in the form of his life. Same for Younis, Azhar and Taufiq. Most importantly, they have been in great form throughout the last 1-2 years. Despite flat wickets, we were in position to win two of the tests in the recently concluded series against SL. Drew one of it courtesy of a Sangakarra special.

Sorry I apologise I got my posters mixed up On my other point I was just musing on the fact in my opinion Pak dont have the players they did have that were able to do things that turned matches .You refer to 05 that was when Akhtar did such a deed through sheer force of will I may be wrong

I wouldn't have anyone in the England team ahead of Younis, Gul, Ajmal, Misbah or Azhar. If Pakistan played more tests they'd all be in the top 5 in the ICC rankings.

They only played England just over a year ago and no one was in great form then and since then they have beaten all put infront but it hasnt been the hardest challenge in comparison I thought SL were going for victory in one test I must be mistaken

No harm done :) On the second part of your post, we'll have to play the waiting game it appears. Akhtar came out of a long lay-off in 2005. Infact he was carrying an injury throughout the series. It was one of Shoaib's most inspiring performances. And what a display that was!:hatsoff: We had a poor lineup on our English tour of 2010. I believe 3-4 players made their Test debuts there. We are much better prepared this time around and ,God willing, will give the English a run for their money. I'm simply being optimistic here instead of making outlandish claims.

I know mate and again sorry I got my posters mixed up. I am never optimistic before England play but to be truthful after the last couple of years it is becoming increasingly difficult to stay grounded
