Sachin=GOD Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Well done WI - beat the Papistanis with their B team.
Utalk Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 With every win you give hope of revival. World cricket needs a strong WI team. Without Gayle' date=' Edwards, Bravo, Taylor and Benn you have recorded a memorable win.[/quote'] +1.
Ultimate_Game Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 still a pathetic team imho Who? Pakistan? I concur, Pakistan are pathetic - they have yet to win in Windies which apparently even Bangladesh has managed to :giggle:
Blueraphael Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 This was the same Windies bowling line-up against the Bangla' date=' who scored 300 plus in most innings in West Indies. Pak batting was clueless against everything spin, pace, swing and bounce. They are worse than the likes of Ashraful and Kayes.[/quote'] There is no doubt that their batting is incredibly weak. Chota Khatmal is like our Rohit Sharma-loads of talent but absolutely no performance, just a couple of sparks here and there. However, whereas Rohit is struggling to break into the first 11, Umar walks in any time he wants. That says a lot. Butttttt...the pitch wasn't exactly a road and the Windies maintained a decent line and length...nothing spectacular but always 'right there'.
Serani Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 still a pathetic team imho Pakistan and NZ are more pathetic, infact NZ seem to get off lightly nobody seems to realise just how bad they actually are, maybe its because they have never been that good.
jairamesh Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Pakistan and NZ are more pathetic' date=' infact NZ seem to get off lightly nobody seems to realise just how bad they actually are, maybe its because they have never been that good.[/quote'] They get off lightly because cricket is not their obsession, especially Test cricket. Rugby comes first for them, then maybe one-day cricket.
vijay810 Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Congrats WI.........but hey they will think well defeating a minnow is not big deal.
CoverDrive Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 This shows that despite such pathetic handling by WICB and the abysmal levels of FC cricket in the region there is enough natural talent in the region to give us hope from time to time. Pitch however was not upto the standard but hell I would take this anyday over flat roads. makes for exciting cricket and provides true test of batsmen. Ajmal bowled superbly and deserved better from his team mates. The Spot fixing scandal has hurt the Pak Test team a lot ( i dont think there is much impact on the ODI side). I know everyone keeps going on about amir but I feel Asif is a bigger loss. One of the cleverest bowler around who assesses the pitch quickly and bowls exactly as per the requirement. He woudl have been deadly on this track.
phaedrus Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 have to say, the Windies do make cricket look cool when they are in full flow. congratulations to them!
Cricket Tragic Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 The frustrating thing is that they lack consistency. Just when you think that they've turned a corner, they go back to playing poor cricket.
