jusarrived Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Mukund & Rahane , but Rahane has been batting 3-4 lately I think
ganeshran Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 I think a radical approach to mould someone in Sehwag's role. It will be tough to match his calibre. With all the names mentioned above none of them will able to portray an ounce of "destructive" to opposition bowlers. Hence, focus should be get someone like Yusuf Pathan. Pundits tend to dismiss Yusuf as flash in the pan swing and swish, and being oblivous to his first class record of an ability to play long innings with a temperament to match Viru. Pathan is comfortable against spin, not seam bowling. He is a good finisher though, not sure about his capability as a opener

If he fails then there is no point in perceiving with him, as pretty much every-time he comes to bat the opposition bring on the quicks for some short pitch bowling.
