Midfielder Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 With GAmbhir and Sehwag out there is a need to find opener. Vijay is decent and Rahane does not open anymore. My choice is Dhawan and then Mukund. Are there any other openers you can think of?
Sid Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 VJ for test matches, has never disappointed whenever given the oppurtunity in test matches.
cowboysfan Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 i am not sure but i am defintely sure its not ftb vijay.
achilles Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Shikhar Dhawan or Mukund. Mukund is more class and Dhawan is a good hitter. Its upto the team management. And please, no Vijay. He couldn't play in Zimbabwe! And most importantly, even Sachin=God is pissed off with him now.
Midfielder Posted May 28, 2011 Author Posted May 28, 2011 I hate to give up on Vijay after investing so much time on him. He should be there in the mix.
Midfielder Posted May 28, 2011 Author Posted May 28, 2011 Dhawan is good for ODIs' date=' not sure about Tests.[/quote'] I think he can of all the people make a more seamless transition.
achilles Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 I hate to give up on Vijay after investing so much time on him. He should be there in the mix. And as much as people hate him, Ravindra Jadeja atleast did the job. Vijay's got a Test slot. What does Jadeja have?
vvvslaxman Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Vijay shouldn't be anywhere near the test team. Isn't he averaging 61 as a test opener. He failed only when he was pushed down the order.
Rusty Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Abhinav Mukund for tests and Dhawan can do a job in ODI's. Hang on why the hell are people forgetting dropthiv?? :cantstop: :cantstop:
achilles Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Hang on why the hell are people forgetting dropthiv?? :cantstop: :cantstop: Whats there to remember?
Sir_Afridi Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 actually he is a pretty good batsman. He has done well in away conditions. Why Indian selectors consider him a fill in gap player only?
Cricket Tragic Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 He has done well in away conditions. Why Indian selectors consider him a fill in gap player only? Because we have high standards.
